hey, is there a simple instruction to learn how to texture map a plane in 3dsmax 7?

from the lack of answers, I am hoping that you understood the short answer is no. Mapping can be a challenge. Luckily, the plane parts care mostly flat, so this can simplify the work quite a bit.

What you want to do is apply the Unwrap UVW modifier. Open up the modifier stack and select face (or whatever sub-object level you are comfortable working with, face is probably the easiest to work with) and select the faces of one component of the plane, IE, a wing top, or the fusalage. flatten or unfold and then adjust so that you can squeeze everything in one little square.

This can be a very lenghty process.
