I hate you and your giant TV for RealFlight. LOL
I think I want to do a projector when I finally move out of here. I'll have a wall dedicated to playing games and mainly for RealFlight. That would be almost like standing in the field for real. LOL.

I have a 36" Sony TV. How do you hook it up to your TV??

STANG KILLA SS

believe it or not his TV has a computer monititor jack on the back, all we had to do is buy a monitor cable :D
then we just used a male/male headphone jack cord for sound.

Looks nice... Curious if you tried full screen mode?

STANG KILLA SS

that is full screen....i assume you meant widescreen?
no but did try it on a widescreen 19" monitor, it just stretched it out. noticable, but not horrible, still playable.

Those pictures show windowed mode... with the window at full... If you go into graphics settings / Hardware / Full screen is off by default I believe. Gets rid of the windows stuff like the start button and the frame.

I just don't like plasma's. Don't think they look good compared to a nice LCD. That's why i went with a 46" Samsung LCD. No glare, I love it. No burn-in to worry about either. That looks awesome. Isn't having a nice PC awesome?

Using mine on 50" Samsung Lcd rear projection.

My 10 year old son is now hooked
Everytime I want to fly, he asks to try and ends up taking over

He is actually doing quite well. His favorites are the B-25 Mitchell and the B-29 Flying Fortress downloaded from the swap pages.

How about one of those projector units, that projects your TV onto any wall? Talk about big screen! :p

hehe yep I'm using a DLP projector with a 108" screen! Could go much larger but 9 feet is plenty :)

Seriously, I've seen some excellent LCD monitors/TVs from Samsung. The contrast ratio on their TVs is incredible. I run a Samsung 21.5 inch monitor here.

Next HDTV will probably be a big Samsung too. Been a Sony/Panasonic fan for HDTVs, but the Samsungs have swayed me.

Alt+Enter will get you in/out of windowed/fullscreen mode.
Alt brings up menus while in full screen.
You are in windowed mode. Get it to fullscreen and turn up the AA/AF in your graphics settings and see the difference! :D

That pillar boxing looks silly :D Run it widescreen on that thing. If it's a 720p (1080i is a lie) it's native resolution is 1280 x 720, run windows with a desktop resolution set to that on that video out or set the ingame full screen resolution to this if you can. If it's a 1080p set run it at 1920x1080 same rules applying.

I just checked and the sim does have both 16:9 (1280x720/1920x1080) and 16:10(1280x800/1920x1200) the latter being widescreen computer monitor aspect ratio.

You guys got it all wrong. You go to a small movie theater so the planes aren't bigger than the real thing and hook up your pc to the projector and make the interlink wireless so you can roam around in the theater. :p

I got a questions...

I really want to get G4 but all the pics and videos I saw was of the water flying, and that type of flying does not interest me. But when I saw your pics of you doing the flying I like- 3D - I am rethinking getting this new system. How is it that G4 has the same planes and photo fields as G3.5?

Sorry if this has already been asked, as I am just starting to look into this

G4 is the same thing as G3.5, with the addition of Water.

Find flying 3D planes a hoot with water. Dip the tail in the water, drag things, ski on the water with land-lubber gear (very touchy).

And those water crashes; bobbing aircraft, sinking aircraft. Pieces sinking and floating. Knocking leaves off trees and watching them fall.

It's a whole new playground! Just what the doctor ordered!

i believe physics, and animations have been upgraded as well.

r1derbike
11-26-2007, 12:46 PM
The physics may not have been changed, but the control authority with 3D maneuvers has greatly increased, and airplane behavior has been "stabilized" as a result of that, or the result of something.

End result; 3D maneuvers are much, much easier. Almost too easy, if you got used to the behavior in G3.5.

One thing I wish they could address is the lack of back torque on the 3D airplanes, even when set at its maximum of 200.

There simply is not enough torque effect on the airframe to do anything but super-slow torque rolls. This effect has somehow been hamstrung during upgrades, and may (or may not, I just don't know) also affect the lack of torque yaw on takeoff.

This is my biggest concern, with ground handling coming in second.

VERY cool!
but the projector will never be able to touch the plasmas crispness, colors or contrast.

but very cool non the less. :D would make ya "duck" when the plane was flying at you!

True.....its an older projector.....and doesnt hold a candle to the PS3 on the LCD.
But,....... I've been looking at the new HD projectors and they have AMAZING pictures.!!

I'd have to agree with the poster... 47" LCD 1600x1080 16x AA via a 8800GTS and DC 6700E. Pure bliss.
