The DS possibility in G4 is fun!!! I attached a recording file of my first ever session of Dynamic Soearing the the heavy ballasted Mistral 3m.
I took a while to get the hang of it, but after figuring it out, it went better.
The first time I launched that sim, I had no idea what I was supposed to do. But when the Mistral got near the gully I pulled full up elevator and it started to loop faster and faster till it was dizzying. My Navguide showed it hitting more than225 mph when it finally smacked the ground.
The next couple of dozen tries I could not get it to repeat that. Eventually I found a good spot and I can routinely get 150 mph but only once more have I hit 200+.

Some glider pilot had a DS video on youtube, that blew me away. Broke 300 mph on the display. Seeing it at a real slope was incredible, the sound and danger was off the chart!

Kmot, may you turn-up the wind? :D

That's the secret Charles! I turned up the wind to 50. Look out! :D
I got some amazing speed. So amazing, I don't want to post it here for fear of the "BS Flag" going up.
Suffice it to say, I continuously exceeded the Mistral strength factor. :p

Hahah, yeah, at the normal 35 mph, it's pretty easy to hit 220-250 after a few tries, we upped it to 50 mph here and I thought I was hot sh*t when I hit around 350 but my friend took over and hit 470! :D
Certainly BS if you were talking real life but... I guess the goal now is to see who can break the sound barrier. :D
One thing that is kind of annoying about DSing though is that they really should have added a "radar gun" UI what would lock and hold the top speed in a single run Along with a live Speed indicator with a nice BIG display so you could actually watch it as you fly. Having to record to see what you flew later or have someone try to watch the speed indicator and shout out values to you is a little cumbersom :/
What's really nice though is that you can actually create your own DS "airports". One problem I have with the current DS airport and the sierra gliding slopes is that they are like just the impossible dream slopes. I mean yeah fun but so not anything like what I got around here...
But on the new archepelgo, there are a couple of more "realistic" slopes you can build a smaller DS site at where you have to lauch on the front side, gain altitude, fly around the back and DS, lose it and see if you can make it back around to the front side again without going down... I absolutely LOVE that ability. Just wish it was possible to edit the groundscape in the editor :/
Yeah, 470 is when the Mistral breaks up. :D
