I travel for work and want to use my laptop..

Windows experience score 3.1 (no clue if that helps)

Intel Core Duo 1.73ghz (T2250)
1gb ram

and with my GM945 chipset, I think this is the video controller

Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950

Will this do in a pinch?

Probably, yes. But how good will it run, that's the question you should ask yourself.

1) Look at the G4 - Framerate - Comparision Thread which system specifications are used and which framerates are achieved.

2) Try the Realflight G3.5 - Demo. If it runs very well and fluently on your system on high settings you have a good change G4 will also run.

3) The optimal system requirements for G4:

* Dual Core 2.4GHz CPU
* 2 GB RAM
* 3D Accelerated Video with:
256 MB dedicated video memory
(Pixel Shader 2.0 support)

At least you have a dual core, that's not bad. You RAM will probably suffcient enough to run G4. But a Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 sounds like an onboard graphic card taking it's video RAM from the system RAM. I think it will run, but not very fast and fluently and definetly not on high settings.

Greets,

Max

Yup right on the money... It's an IGP.
