OK guys - need some help. I've used Photoshop for a long time, but I thought I would give GIMP a try. For the life of me, I can't get it to save a TGA that has the alpha info in the actual alpha channel. It does save the file with an alpha channel, as confirmed in PS, but it is always completely white. The alpha info seems to already be multiplied into the R,G,B channels.

I've looked high and low, read lots of posts (including here), but I still can't get the result I'm after.

I know there are GIMP users out there, so help me out folks. What am I doing wrong ???

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info, especially the pics. I'll see if that helps, and report back, hopefully with some pics of my own...

Thanks!

Well.... I was able to do something similar to your example. When I tried to apply it to my project, I was having a little trouble getting what I wanted.

Oh well - guess I'll stick to PS. Thanks for the info though. There are certainly some things in GIMP that are approached differently than in PhotoShop.

I'll post some pics of my current progress in another thread...
