I am seeing a most entertaining behavior. It does not affect my usage of RealFlight, and after searching the forum I was not able to find any postings about it.

I am mostly flying the T-Rex 450 V2 model (the 4.5 version) from the swap pages, but I seem to remember other helis having the problem.

After a crash, in both photo fields and non-photo fields, the heli will wander around the ground in small bounces. It is like the crash energy takes several seconds or perhaps a minute or to to be absorbed. I have one recording of the T-Rex 450 dancing around after a crash at the flight school. It wanders for almost a full minute.

I can post a recording if you are interested.

Thoughts?

Nothing unusual. This has been talked about many times.

It has to do with the ( lack of ) collision mesh and sometimes gear springiness.

As the co-creator of that heli, I have tried to recreate the issue seen but I do not see a problem.

Would you mind posting your recording?

Sorry for the delay. Finals week at OU. :)

Here is a recording of this heli dancing after a crash at the flight school.

Thanks for the info. I did do a search before posting, but I probably did not use the correct search term.

As noted, I'm not too bothered by it, as I mostly use RealFlight for practicing maneuvers to be performed on my real T-Rex or other models, and thank goodness they don't wander all over the flying field after a crash. That would be embarrassing. :)

Of course, from time to time, it does happen in real life:

My favorite line:
"Oh scheise.... Oh scheise..."
