All of you genius's probably know about this already, but just in case there is one person who hasn't figured it out yet....... :p
Back in G3 I used to play multiple recordings together and it was a lot of fun. Then in G4-G4.5 we 'thought' we had lost the ability to do this but it was pointed out in a thread that a Console command "loadrecording" could be used to run multiple recordings.
I made another last night. One at a time, I recorded one of the various 1930's race planes available in RealFlight and/or on the Swap Pages. I flew them at Air Race Stadium, and made five laps around in the same circuit. I did this with seven different airplanes.
When finished, I loaded all seven recordings. As I loaded each one in turn, I hit the "II" pause button and then dragged the time line back to the starting point.
When all seven had been loaded, it looked like the first picture here. Seven playback windows stacked on the screen and seven aircraft stacked on each other at the spawn point.
I quickly, as fast as I could move my cursor around, clicked on the ">" start icon and got all aircraft airborne.
This is where the fun starts. :)
You can drag each playback window and stack it on top of the other so that you end up with only one playback window visible on your screen as shown in the second photo.
Now with all the aircraft flying and restarting continuously, you have several options. You can load another airplane, and go flying and "race' the other planes. You can also while doing this go into "chase view" and follow them around the course.
Or, as I do, you can simply "spectate" the races. But, I use the "Walk" command to move about the field into a more interesting viewing point. And I use the scroll wheel on the mouse to lift my viewing point directly in the path of the aircraft. Further, you can select in your "View" command which aircraft you want to look at. Select an airplane, and now the "C" command will put you into, or in chase view of that particular airplane and you can follow along as it 'races' the other plane.
Hours of entertainment! :p
