Hello!

I wonder if anyone could be so kind to make a how-to on how to set up my Futaba 10C to work with RealFlight through the InterLink.

A detailed step-by-step guide would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Most users will only try this once for the novelty. As it puts wear on your radio for little benefit.

Best place to start looking into how to do it is your users manual, chapter 7 (G4.5, G5 may be different).

Thanks but I have of course read the manual. It says nothing about which mode the transmitter should send on (I assume PPM) and other necessary information you need to successfully connect your own computer radio. When I insert the cable to the radio the radio does not automatically power on as expected (Like trainer cord and Phoenix simulator)

I don't buy the "wear and tear" comment. Of course it's better to use your own radio and your own settings to get the most accurate feeling both on simulator training and real life flying. The InterLink thing is crap comparing to my Futaba 10C. And computer radios like Futaba 10C will last much longer than my eager to upgrade my equipment to bigger and better :)

My problem is that if the radio transmits on 2,4GHz or PPM the calibrating monitors goes crazy.. When I use PPC1024 no signal are sent.. So.. again.. what magical tricks should I do to get this to work ?

Call tech support the information is available in the gray bar at the top of each forum web page.

If you get it to work, please post what you did... then someone else can build off your experience. Good luck..

I have sticker on the back of my Interlink that says to put the radio in ppm (fm) mode.

I did post a question to support but they didn't bother to answer me.. I guess they know it's not possible and don't want to admit it.

I'm really disappointed by RealFlight. Back to the Phoenix sim for me.

Sorry, I don't think that is what happened.... they seem to answer questions better over the telephone.... I told you how on December 4th...

I also suggest looking at the following web page for the spectrum Dx6i http://www.ironcreek.net/dx6i/ It will not be directly what you are looking for, but may help you get where you want to go. Give KE support another try... CALL THEM. You said you posted a question to support.... this is a user's help forum... it is NOT a method of contacting technical support. Did you click the support link in the gray bar above?

I have a great JR9303 9 channel radio (every bit as nice as yours) and I use the interlink for real flight. I don't want to waste any of my good radio on real flight. As most will tell you here, it is just easier to use the interlink... and with your radio and the interlink both being Futaba, I am pretty sure it is possible to do this. It is certainly no reason to abandon Real Flight... you have been able to use the interlink all along... if that did not tell you anything... then...

Rubbish.

You obviously E-mailed them, which is NOT the way to get support.

Back to the Phoenix sim for me.

I guess some people prefer sub-par sims.

I will not use more money on RF. Foreign calls are expensive. How can you trust a company witch doesn't know about e-mail ?

Phoenix has a far more realistic helicopter simulator engine than RF. RF has better VPP support.

And thanks for your helpful reply btw....

I prefere to practice with the same radio and mixing both in real life and in simulator training. The Interlink radio feels like a plastic toy. Why use a lot of money on good radios when you don't dare to use it ? The Futaba 10C will last for many years with or without simulator use.

I'm sure they "know abouut email", so yes, you can trust them. ;) Put yourself in their shoes. Let's say that somebody emails you at the same time somebody else calls you. Which do you respond to first? Heck, chances are, you won't even know about the email for a while after it comes in, unless you check email. Anyway, his point is that as long as he's been around, he's noticed that people tend to have better luck getting support from Great Planes by phone than by email. I've noticed the same thing.

Not by a long shot.

After you get the hang of the editor, you'll find that this is not so.

No problem!

Call me "Mr. Helpful". :D

You've been told to call, on several occasions for valid reasons.

That you don't want to or are unable to do so is another matter altogether and not related to Realflight Support being unable to support users.

As mentioned e-mails are not the best venue for support, and during the Holidays you can imagine that e-mails are coming in mixed in with tons of spam.

Phone support does very well and they have a very good track record with people here.
