Should work. Are you trying to install it in admin mode? Also, are your DEP settings too tight? You may want to call tech support tomorrow.

Are you logged in as the local administrator?
Have you turned off DEP in the control panel?
After several attempts I managed to install G4 on a new laptop with Windows 7. I can start the RealFilght Launcher. When I click on Run RealFlight the program banner flashes then dissappears and nothing happens.
I upgraded to G4.5 thinking that there might be Windows 7 support in that version. The same thing happens. I know that the laptop hardware/software is capable of running RealFlight. I downloaded and installed the G5 demo. It works with no problem.
Any suggestions for a fix?

It's not Win7 keeping you from running RF. It's something else. Maybe Data Execution Prevention, or an overly aggressive security software. RF runs on my Win7 machine.

I don't know what Opjose's quote has to do with your question, but if you figure out how to get it to work, post your method!

Sure if you run Windows under Mandriva using VMWare.
But that would slow Realflight down, so you are better off just dual booting.

No I have not turned off DEP. Not sure how actually. Is this a known requirement or just a guess?

Begging your pardon, but does it matter?
Now that I think about it, I think DEP troubles actually have more to do with the installation of the software than the execution of it. You asked for suggestions. Here's another: http://gpsoftware.com/contacts.htm

Thanks guys for the replies. I did figure put how to turn off DEP for specific executable files/programs. It didn't fix the problem. I will try a new install tomorrow to see if that does the trick.

Hi Guys.
I have had G4.5 for about 3 years and used very successfully until I came to instal on my new machine running Windows 7 and using Kaspersky security software.
When trying to re-instal I get a panic warning from Kaspersky saying that the first disc contains a Trojan.
Any ideas on how to resolve this. Could it be that the Security software is a little too sensitive or has the disc really got a trojan on it. Has anyone else had this problem.

I've seen people with Kaspersky have that warning. It's the way RF works. Allow it, or just use Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free.
