Google has up a picture today of Amelia Earhart with a Lockheed Vega 5b. It looks great with the wood finish and would be beautiful as a model.
However, as far as I can tell, her plane was actually red and is in the Smithsonian.
Is there a historical basis for what Google is showing, or have they just used artistic license?
I checked the swaps and as far as I can tell, the Lockheed Vega 5b has not been done (I'm not putting dibs on it).
