Hi,

I started working on ALeeS Rush 750.
Any help with the 3-view flat photos, are welcome!

I'm using the manual PDF, but "lacks" the measures of the parts.
If it is possible to have the measurements (mm), I would be grateful. At least the "main" (WxLxH) ;)

Thanks!

"main" measure and some quick renders

You might be able to contact the Designer/company, perhaps they could assist you in CAD drawings. Not much is out there in the way of 3-view photos for this heli.

Nice!

Did you contact the company for specs etc.?

OEJ, here's a thread (http://helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=437380) or two (http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=453853&page=3) that might help. These are recent builds within the last 5 or 6 months, so you might be able to contact them if you need some more specifics. I didnt really look through them that closely, but from what I did see, there are some nice reference pics at least. The first link seems a lot more detailed with, at random stops through scrolling, has a few measurements, but I dont know how many. Hope they help.

You should try to contact Charley Stephens. He is the owner of AleeS RC and designer of the Rush 750. He was the designer at Outrage and created the Outrage 550 and Fusion 50 helis. He would probably be more than happy to help...as well as excited that you guys want to build this for RF! He is really good about responding to threads on the forums. Hope this helps.

I don't know if this will help, but thought it had some views that might come in handy as well as actual measurements.

Thank you all for your help!

The "thread links" posted by "abaser" are very useful. There are many detailed photos.
Anyway, the manual is helpful.

Maybe... I will contact Charley Stephens.

If you find other "news", let me know...

Thanks!

How do you not run out of polies??
Simple rules:
- use less polys (vertex) for components that are not visible
- do not forget to use the "Weld" tool
- If possibile frequently use the "Target Weld" tool
- for the holes in the Fuselage use the "Alpha channel" in CS
- for the Blur Disks use the "ProOptimizer" tool

How do you not run out of polies??

He's a part-time hacker leader... he has had the code monkeys in the back room hacking the KEX plugin to recompile it to raise the poly limit. The only thing stopping him releasing it to the public is his need to remove the tinfoil hat. :D

Is this model available for download yet? I just purchased the real thing and it's en-route to my house as we speak.

Looks like I need to upgrade my RF 5.5 to the latest so I can fly the virtual Rush as well. :)

I'm still working on Canopy (mapping + CS)...

I'm trying to improve the map of the canopy, but without success!
In my other models I've always used just the tool Normal or Flatten mapping (left / right sides). In this way are excluded upper and lower sides..

Boof helped me with some advice, but I can't do it.

If I fail, I will use the old way. I hate "canopy mapping"!!! Maybe I need a rest?!

In the first pic (red arrows) you can see the distortion...
And I still have to paint the logo Alees? No way...

You're obviously a perfectionist (nothing wrong with that), but I think your model looks awesome.

The distortion is hardly noticeable and if you didn't point it out, I probably wouldn't have seen it.

Excellent detail.

Hi Boof,

thank you so much for your help.
I hope that tomorrow I'll have more free time to resume work on the "canopy".

Thank you again ...

This model is just packed with delicious details. Beautiful work as always. The model flies nicely as well. My only comment would be on how it would have benefited from an AO map. The inner canopy at least. Most would never care about it so no big deal. You are a master my friend. Great work!
