Change the default sounds, i like the desil sound, they all sound digital this keeps the program fast, it we were to use MP3s or even wave fiies i think that would require more power and speed.

Remember this game was released in 1999 then there wernt 1 gig machines avlable so this game was very ahead of its time some machines out now still struggle running it.

My System:
Abit BX133R (mainbord)
2 15gig 7200 IBMs in RAID!
P3 700E@950mhz
256 megs Mushkin
GF2 GTS
SBlive platnum
3Com nic, cable
Pioneer DVD

That's why there are patches out and around,I just purchased this game some days ago and after installing it on my overdimesioned computer, it still had some minor problems to get the game up and running. After downloaded the latest updates it was better but not great.
I also found the sound to be distorted.. not good..

I am requesting more updates for this game, cars, tracks and all..
The consept is great! Love the game, but has a few to many 'bugs'.

Have a nice ride guys!

T-Maxx all the way.

If the sound is distorted then either your vid
card or your sound card or drivers is not working
properly.

The software doesn't have any problem with updated
machines, just machines that are not running the
drivers and os that it was programmed for.

I fly everything there is. I crash all that I have. (Sometimes)

i would go out on a limb and say your sound problem is from your onboard sound? onboard sound use your CPU (inte or amd) to do the work for the sound till everything has cought up the sound should get clear. sound cards like the sblive use their own power and ram for the sound and this makes everything faster and smoother. Onboard relies on your cpu speed and your actual ram once the sound has cought up to the video then it gets clear. No way around it other then to get a PCI sound card and add that.

If its not onboard sound (sound plugs vertical with the box and board) then you may have a driver problem try DirectX first
