If you haven't tried it yet, set up a navaid in one corner of the screen and edit it to display the airspeed in a larger font so you can pick it out easily. I use a 22 font. Then set up an alternate view in the other corner of your screen and set that to binocular view. That will display a zoomed image of your aircraft in the corner of your screen, which will show the gear retracting, control surface movements, etc. Most importantly, the plane changes attitude as you fly. With it set up this way you can see the plane's attitude and control it when it's at distances too far to control it otherwise.
Now try flying one of the jets. Keeping one eye on the plane in the corner lets me fly WAY up and out there, then Split S into a screaming low pass. I don't have a lot of time on this yet but so far the F4 Turbine is king with one downhill pass touching 355 mph as it went by me. And the sound as passes is awesome. Try it, I think you'll like it. This is even more fun than my Bassackwards CAP 232 Large!
I wish everyone a healthy and happy holiday season.

Yahoo! Ooops, wrong website.
It took a little while, but I finally
landed a helicopter on the picnic table!
Tough for a newbie, but I'm having fun!

ChefJeff,
That is pretty neat. I flew the 30 some lb. F-4 (the big downloaded F-4) When it got up to 400 mph, the speed would get knocked down then slowly increase back up. So maybe rc jets are not intended to go that fast on the G2 eh? :D
That sucker comes down screaming!! WOWSEEPOWSEE!!

Hi Simple,
I deleted that F4 because it behaved so badly I couldn't get it off the ground most of the time. After a reset it sat there bouncing the nose up in the air so violently, as soon as it came down a little crooked it crashed. Any behavior like that on your system?
We're ass-deep in snow here in South Jersey so it's a good day to stay inside. That aircraft was always unstable at full throttle/full speed before but it was OK on the runway so maybe I'll download another copy and see what happens.
Have a good New Year.

That Big F-4 does the same thing on my computer. I wait until the nose points in the air and give it full throttle. It usually takes me several times before I can get it to take off.
That sucker is fast though, and I can land it.

Hi,
This F4 pogo stick behavior seems to be field-dependent. It's bad at Green Valley, not as bad at Fun Fly and fine at Island Paradise and Super Stadium. These are the only fields I've tried so far.
Have you had any luck getting the Model Swap XCELL SE.heli to run? It won't register for me, saying it's based on a Sun Dog.bse file I don't have. But I have the original RealFlight, RF Deluxe and both add-on disks so it's not that. I've posted this question here before as have several others but there's never a response from anyone at KnifeEdge. Does it work for you?

Hey, Chef -
I arrived at a similar solution - I couldn't see the turbine models far enough out to make good flybys - until I turned on that binocular viewport. I didn't think about adding the airspeed one, though - great idea, I'll try it!
And Scott, if you're listening - I wonder if overspeed flutter should be added to your bag of "failure" tricks .... :)

Hello Jeff. I also hail from South Jersey. What county are you in, and where do you fly? I have a similar bouncing problem with the large cap. Any solutions other than changing fields? Was there ever a fix to the engine running in reverse for the older cap? Just got G2 and trying to get through the 13 meg manual. Take Care
