I have a pentium II 266 with 96mb's ram (PC-66),
24xCD, 10GB 7200 spin Hard Drive, 2 or 4MB video ram, and just resently installed a 3DFX voodoo4 4500 32MB AGP 3D card and just picked up a 19" CRT MONITOR - dot pitch .25mm with maximum resolution of 1600x1200 with .22mm horizontal.
Anyway just thought that if someone had a computer that was simular to mine and were wondering if G2 would work on it. IT DOES!
I don't know yet how many feature's in G2 that I can use. BUT, my verdict on G2, absolutely Beautiful. Using 800x600x16bit resolution, The prop spinning on the planes and the smoke looks TOTALLY REAL and fantastic scenery!!!!
FANTASTIC JOB Knife Edge. YEEEEE HAAAAAA!!!!!!

PS, I only ran the G2 sim for only a short while, so I can't say if it's going to remain stable on my computer. Hopefully it will, but even if it doesn't remain stable, I'm still very happy with G2.
Thanks again KnifeEdge,

Man the aircraft in G2 are so real that I have to wash the fuel residue off of my skin after each flight.
How the heck did you folk's manange to make it so Real?
The only thing this sim is missing is the smell of the fuel!  :p

Well as of today, G2 seems to be pretty stable on my computer. I also found out that I can run up to 1600x1200x16bit at 75 refresh when running G2 in the Full Screen mode. You have to set your desktop monitor setting first to a setting that you feel comfortable with and at a refresh rate that your monitor can handle. See your monitor's instructions for information on what setting are safe for your monitor. ( This applies whether you have G2 or not, G2 does not affect your desktop setting ). After setting your monitor's resolution and refresh rate in your Windows Desktop. Start up your G2, then on the G2's toolbar go to your ( options ), then choose
( Direct3D ) then set your resolution and refresh rate that you would like to use when your running in the( Full Screen ) mode in G2. Whatever setting you have set in your windows desktop for resolution and refresh rates is probably what you will have when your running in the ( Windowed ) mode in G2. You still might want to check your resolution setting once your in your G2 anyway though. I have to thank rc-flyer for bringing that information to my attention.
Thanks rc-flyer. :)

The Fight Instructor lessons also work on my computer. Just can't rush from one lesson to the other. :)
