Has anyone noticed that you still can't execute a legitimate 3D "Elevator" or "Flat Spin" with G2. Why wasnt anything with the "Real Physics" engine updated ??

From what I've read elsewhere I believe the engine is still being tweaked and will be released as a free download in due course.
Scott/Jim - any ideas yet when this is expected? Before Christmas or after?
Thanks,
Phil

If you are still concerned about flaws, Just wait till all is done! G2 Is a fine program and any problems will be dealt with in a fashionable manner. That is why it is so nice to have a control panel with easy updates. There is Still more to come. Be patient and KE will work hard for you to solve your problems. ;)

THanks for the feedback folks. As long as they know it's an issue, I'll feel much better.

Scott may smack me down :) but it's looking like after Christmas. The next question you might have is how long after Christmas. I can't answer that right now, but it shouldn't be too long. How's that for ambiguous :D

Thanks for the reply Jim (hope Scott doesn't smack you down TOO hard ;) )
I've worked with programmers before (testing software) so I know how hard it is to give an accurate timescale. Even so, it's usually possible to give a rough estimate as you have done, so I'm sure we all thank you for that. :)
Phil
P.S. Do you need any UK-based software testers ............. ? :)

Are there any working models of decent 3D planes out there? What kinds of tweaks and changes need to be made? I had my classic freeplane large cap doing a respectable elevator but it won't work with G2  Any fixes to the engine running backwards. Take Care Bob

I have my G2 upgrade for only about a week, but just today I stumbled into what looked like a flat spin. The model was spinning on its central axis, no forward motion, and falling inverted with (most importantly) the nose fairly level with the ground.
I would like someone else to try this and confirm:
1. Select the AT6 Texan
2. Increase the size to about 105 inch span.
3. Increase the engine to give it some power.
4. Take off and gain some altitude
5. Roll inverted(very important)& with some speed.
6. Give it a negative snap command and hold this command for a second or two to get it spinning REALLY fast.
7. Then release and watch what it does. Maybe you then need to give it a command as you would for a real model to go flat. I was able to do it a couple of times this afternoon before I had to leave. I am still experimenting!!!
I did all of this with the gear down (haven't been able to figure out the retracts yet).

Well I've downloaded the patch but still no elevators, flat spins, or harrier type 3D manuevers. I've modified both the CAP 232 and Extra 300 to about 120" ws and all the typical 3D control surface mods. Great TRs and hovers - what a blast! So what is the current word on patches to the physics models which will allow harriers and elevators?

Hi I have just proven to many people in my club that it is posable to ceate a cap 232 on g2 that will do all the tricks in the book. I just got through submiting it to Knife edge software. If it turns out the way I plan you willsee it in a couple days .
The plane has the same setup as aeroworks.
it flys like a dream, but takes a little getting use to. all you have to do to elevatoris, climb to about 400 feet pull the throttle to idle, don't hesitate, let it slow down, pull all the way back on the stick and watch it come down.
Enjoy,

You should send that plane in so we can all share it :)

How about a recording of the plane flying?
Both the texan and the cap.

I'd love to see a good flat spin recording. Could you post to the Unofficial G2 Swap Page?

Just visited this board after a few months. What's new? I'm getting an KE Internal error of 39572. Anyone know what that's all about? I can't seem to get the latest version either.
