View Full Version : Customizing Engines (check out those torque curves...)

I was wondering how I can modify the torque curve of the engine, and all of the prop characteristics. I downloaded a .eng file for engines, and it seems like the torque curve is stored in another file (as well as some of the prop info, sound info, etc). Could someone post/send me a sample torque curve and prop file, as well as any other data files you can customize? (please send it to jpconfino@hotmail.com) Also, I'd like to get a copy of the original .eng files (as well as any other .ini-style files) so I can copy them and customize them (I haven't yet figured out how to extract them from the .dck file on the CD). I love all the plane customizations you can make with the software!

You dont have to go to all that trouble. You can set the percentage of the torque curve in the engine edit menu. You can also change the prop, includeing airfoil within the sim. Which you probably knew already.

If you are talking about changing the curve, I'm not sure its modeled close enough to make much difference. The engines never stumble in mid range or sag in spots. They always run perfect except for the occasional rich run (if you have the failure on :) ).
