View Full Version : Can i post a sugestion that would help? the controler?
ive been using this controler with other racing games and i have a few that you can set the controler to a dead band. i really feel that if this Simm had a dead band setting for the controler and a sesitivity setting for the controler it would really help. ive seen alot of posts about people that say the cars pull and ive even noticed that the in the calibration the controler will twitch and i think it does this when playing also. its not bad if you use the stock cars at the default settings but when start to get the car faster the controler becomes real twitch and can somtimes crash the car. then cause the D3D errors and crash the game.
does anyone else play racing games that think a deadband for the center point would help?

On real RC cars you have a little dedband. (my cars had it anyway)
RealRace is an RC simulator and should simulate a real RC car.
Then I think it's Knifedge that should fix the problem. I'm only need a little deadband about 1% or 2% on the steering.

What's "deadband" ?
I fly and have never heard it.
Don't bother me now, I'm flying RFG2...
Or am I flying the real thing? I can never tell till the landing...
Deadband is a little window that you can set that has no affect in the control of the receiver. say you have a very shaky hand (your first run with your $2000 kit) and as you shake the receiver respond to that little shake. if you set a deadband then the receiver doent respond to that little shake but only respond when you move the transmitter past the deadband window.
do you fallow me? say this is the control window:
-----------o----------- o being the center position. if you move the control just a slight bit the receiver responds. ok now say you add some dead band now the window looks like this.
-------------[ o ]------------- now you have a little more room to shake or twitch and the receiver doesnt respond till you get outside of the deadband.
the problem is, the realrace controler is WAY to sesative and with the default realrace cars you dont notice but as you tweak the cars and get them going a little faster a little twitch you crash into the wall.
i guess i need to look into the game a little further if there is a setting in it that im overlooking then maybe im just blowing smoke.
if i find it ill post back.

COOL! i found it, it was the epoentional if you bump it up to about 50% then it becomes more stable. th ehigh and the low i moved to about 50% that seems t REALLY help.
if i put it at 100 then the car doesnt even turn till i get to full left or right on the steering.
