Hey everyone, I was sitting at work today reading thru the forums and saw alot of people who wanted to play RealFlight G2 in multiplayer, but had no real easy way to find games. I came up with an idea, it isnt the greatest, but its the best I can think of. Here is what you do.

If you want to host a game:
Goto www.burstable.net/realflight (http://www.burstable.net/realflight), once there put in your ip address and and a description of the game and click submit, then startup RealFlight and start a host game and wait and hope someone enters. When you fill that form out it will list your ip and the game description on the page. The only thing I ask is that once you are done, you go back to the page and find your game listing and click the delete button next to it, so it will no longer be listed.

If you want to join a game:
Simply goto www.burstable.net/realflight (http://www.burstable.net/realflight), once there look for a game listed that interests you and write down the ip address of the game. Then go into RealFlight and join the game and use the ip address you got from the page.

Remember, there needs to be people hosting games before anyone can join, so if you dont see any listed, host one, hopefully someone will see the listing and join yours.

I know this isnt the best solution, but its really the only way to do this without actually having the game code to fiddle with. Hopefully Knife Edge will eventually come up with a better solution, but until then, try it out and let me know how it works out for you.

Im open to other suggestions, if you have any, feel free to post them here.

Please, Please, Please remember to delete your game listing from the page when you are done, otherwise this solution will not work if there is a bunch of bogus games listed, people will just get frustrated.

Thanks,
Jeff

Check out the "Rotory" forums. There is now a location to Post IP for hosting. In the evening the chat is a good place to hook up.
(I leave the rotory chat on with G2 running in a window so I can catch players either way)

Suggestion: When planning to host, maybe include what you plan to host and the time you plan to host. Example: Pylon racing, will start hosting on January 20th from 9am eastern time and will wait for joiner's for at least 1 hour.

I hope this idea works. I think the best idea would be to get a url with an easy to remember name like

www.g2multiplayer.com (http://www.g2multiplayer.com) and do the same basic thing there that way it would be a lot easier for players to unite and fly together.
