Hello,
I have Realrace with the latest upgrade 1.00.174.
A p4 1.8
512mb 133mhz ram
60. gb hd
16xdvd
64 mb geforce2
ac 97 integrated audio
windows xp

while running the sim i notice a glitch every 5 to 10 seconds. I have turned up my cache as high as it will go. In a race the cd light will pop on and the sim will jump as the frame rate drops. i have tried changing graphic and sound settings.
I thought it may be a cache issue but the sim continues to do it even if yu set on the track and don't move. Please help. Thanks, Tom

Try to turn off all sounds. Maby you can leave engine sound on.

when you see the glitch look at your hard drive light, do you have an LED on your box taht tells when your hard drive is running? If the glitch is in time with this light (wich i think it is) that means your drive is running and thats causing the lag.

can be a few things, virus scanners do this they are constantly searching your files. What you need to do is before you start the game push ctrl, alt, delete and close all the junk you dont need running wich should be almost everything. (checking mine right now) i have 2 things open Explorer and system tray thats it my speaker, and my browser thats all that is running. Thats all i want running thats all i need.

If i think i may have a virus i turn it on, if i think im being hacked i turn on my firewall. If i dont need the lights on i dont leave em on 24/7 its wasting power. Your machine is that same way
