TX Interface or Their Radio

Hello Everyone

Should i get the TX interface or get G2 with their radio. I do not have a radio yet so which way should i go

I am going to get the Futaba 6XAS oneday. I just figured i whoud get theirs for now

I got "their radio" back when I got RFD and I think I made the correct choice. The only problem I had was the "ratchet" on the throttle which is ok for planks but not for helies. but it's simple enough to take the back off and flip the ratchet over. As much as I use the sim the wear and tear on a TX would be a factor. "there" transmitter has the same "feel" as the Futaba and with a USB adapter is easier to connect to the front of most "modern" computers.

I use the realflight joystick port radio too. I am hard enough on them flying at the field, I dont want to be banging it up on the computer. I also dont want to use up the batteries, though it might be a way to cycle them. ;)

I tried the RF box and it felt just like the Futaba TX I had. (T6XAS). I decided to get the TX interface since I might want to use RF to help set up my TX mixes, etc. and get used to them before depending on them to fly my planes. But instead of using the T6 for my every day flying, I bought a Skysport 4 for about $20 with battery on EBAY. That way the skysport takes the everyday wear and tear but I can still use the SIM to preset my computer radio. Now that I have an 8U this is even more helpful.

I had the interface once. But only getting an hour or so of sim time and then having to wait 12 hours to re-charge changed my mind very quickly. Sent it back for their standard controller. ;)

A few lines back you mentioned a USB adapter. What do you mean? I have a cable adapter that converts a serial into a USB (came with a game controller I bought last year - is basically a cable that has a female serial on one end and a male USB on the other), but is that all I need? Hard to believe there isn't more to it than simply re-routing the wires from one type of connector (serial) to another (USB).

Yes it's made by "Rockfire" and is called "USB-Nest RM-203"

It is an "active" device but is small and works great.
Sure beats groping behind your tower to plug in the game port. :D

actually it does take more then just re-routing wires from one type of connection, game port in this case, to a different one, such as USB. The realflight controller is an analog controller device, and the USB port is a digital port, so the 2 do not mesh. If you are looking for a USB adaptor, the rockfire one that was mentioned seems to work great, or any other adaptor that is capable of supporting a 4 axis, 4 button analog controller should work as well.
