I have just installed G3 and have tried to register it to no avail. When I try to register I get a KEError 12241 error occured while communicating with server.
I also get KEError 21023 unable to register client/server transaction failed.

I have shut off my windows xp firewall and even removed my router to eliminate any problems on this end.

This is very frustrating to have paid $200 for software that I cannot get to work and poor tech support hours.

No Heli with Gen3 ??? That's the only reason I bought this RealFlight!

I installed and ran RF G3 with no problem. After I read this Thread I also tried to register it. NO GO. Same thing happened just once when I tried to register my 4 copies of RF G2 and once in a great while, while trying to access updates for RF G2. Once in a while the server was down but its usually up after a few hours. Could be that maybe the local area where the server is, the local server might be down for a while.
Or if its the KE registration site specifically, maybe their partying since its the weekend and their blowing off some steam from all the work they had to do to get RF G3 out. OR they may be busy as bee's working on adding the heli's, etc., etc., etc., etc. They will get it straitened out I'm sure.

Also, if by some chance you try to install add-on's 1 or 2 to RF G3, you have to use this serial number which I got from Cougar (Jeff) which he in turn obtained from support. ser # 15737246-RF-1842326951 and support told Jeff it was ok to post that ser # here.

As far as getting the heli to work. I haven't attempted yet to install any of my add-ons with Heli's to RF G3 yet. Just having to much fun to bother yet. But also they did say that they will be giving a free upgrade later on down the line for heli flyers for RF G3. So maybe even if you installed an add-on with heli's in it to RF G3. Its just not supported quite yet. They did notify people of this before putting RF G3 out. Patience.

Peace,

Adlai ;)

The first I heard of no Heli with G3 was today. My G3 packaging box showed a Heli along with the airplane so I assumed that it contained Heli's too. I just got back into R/C last week after a 20 year break. My first simulator software ever is the RealFlight G3 that I received yesterday. So now I have a $200 controller and software that I cannot train with? I would have bought the G2 had I'd known this. Unfortunately I cannot exchange it for a G2. What's a guy suppose to do?

kwbird,

Sorry about your delema, but it does actually state on the front of the RF G3 box.

Quoted: "Helicopter functions available as FREE update in Spring 2005"

and also goes on to say "See inside for details or www.realflight.com for more information"
and to be fair, there is only one picture of 1 heli on the box with a whole bunch of pictures of only fixed wing aircraft.

Also in the Tower Hobbies flyer add, there are no pictures of heli's related with the RF G3 add but it does show a list of heli's, but it also states, right above that list,
"Available Spring 2005 see details below" and here is what the details say,
"RealFlight G3 heli functions are available to all G3 purchasers as a free update. Software will be available spring 2005. See www.realflight.com for information"

Not trying to bug you in anyway what-so-ever, but the information was there.

Mabye try some fixed wing flying in the mean time? Ya never know, you just might enjoy it. You did purchase what IMO opinion, is a VERY FINE RC SIMUATOR.

If you can't wait till the free heli upgrade for RF G3 is available, you have to decide that one on your own. But my suggestion is you hold on to your RF G3 instead of trying to return it and getting the RF G2 instead, especially if you have a computer that can take full advantage of what the RF G3 simulator has to offer.

But you do have your hands on one fantastic RC Flight Simulator.

Sorry bout your delema.

Yeah, I'm really bummed about it. I double checked my box and no where on it does it say "Helicopter functions available as FREE update in Spring 2005"

As far as airplanes go, I already been there done that. Wanna give Heli a try.

I feel betrayed in this whole deal. I think I'll buy another brand software if nothing can be resolved. It hurts to spend $200 for nothing.

It is stated on the box. My last words. I dought very much that you'll be able to find a better RC sim around. I got some free time and man can't live by RC alone,
going to do a little shoot um up with Call Of Duty United Offensive.
At least check out Nevada and the Observatory. Then if you rid yourself of RF G3 and pick up another manufacturer's RC sim, you'll have something ta compare it to.
Have a good one.......

I almost bought G3 and then found out about the no heli till spring thing. I bought G2 instead. I figure I will put G2 on eBay when the G3 heli stuff comes out. Meanwhile I'm having fun trying to learn to hover. I almost think that it would be easier for a person who isn't a helicopter pilot. An RC helicopter doesn't fly like the real thing. I remember when I was taking helicopter lessons I thought I'd never learn to hover and then one day I could. Maybe the same will happen with the RC heli stuff.

The program seems to be significantly better than earlier versions I've used.

I also been unable to register electonically.

The box that I received had a small (1.5"x.75") black sticker applied to the front that had the statement of the update.

I've also had a problem when selecting different fields that the sky and aircraft instantly use the same paint scheme. Reselecting the original field does not eliminate the issue but resetting all back to standard defaults does.

hmmm..... no sticker on my box that I can see. What kind of company would release this kind of advertising packaging without all the features that it claims>? How long have these guys been in business?

kwbird,

Guess you maybe got that one in a million box without the sticker on it.
So guess you just might have a legit argument if you decide to return it for a full refund.

You have you hands on what is probably the "BEST" RC Flight Simulator on this planet and you just don't realize it.

How long have they been around? Try taking the time to check out a couple of the other post in here, it just might give you a clue.

Below Snapshots are from RealFlight G2

You can't register because the server is down. They told me to try again next week.

Has anyone really tried to look at the help file with this program? WOW, it is all just one long page and it is really hard to find what you are looking for in it.

Insallation took me all day long. I have all 5 add ons but good luck adding 1 and 2. I used the ser no that someone else posted and they did finally load. But do we really have to go to a website to figure this stuff out? Come on.

Looks like they wanted to get this program out just intime for xmas sales.
And you have to wait to get helocopters on this program? What's that all about?

I'm sure G3 will be just fine in the future but for now I think I will eat some lettuce because I feel like a ginnypig.

So it seems I can't even play with the Airplane mode because it says I must register first. And I can't register with their server down. Why on earth would they not be working on getting the server up? This whole deal sounds fishy to me.

kwbird,

I don't know if its because I have RF G2 registered but for RF G3.
When I first start the program by clicking on the RF G3 icon, there is a message that says "Sorry, you must register online before updating this software" I just clicked on the "OK" button, then the "RUN REALFLIGHT" option becomes available. I just click on it and the sim starts.

However, now when it is almost all the way loaded I get this:

I dought if this will help but maybe set your windows resolution to 800x600x16bit then try again.
Its probably your 3d card or setting or maybe you don't have enough ram etc.
You should give your computer specks here "in detail" then maybe someone can help you future if you can't get it runnng yourself.

looks like your cpu should be able to handle rf g3, only thing I see is your 3d card is mx, I'm taking that as a pci type card? But even then I think it should be ok. But try to maybe set your setting in your 3d card setting for "Best Performance". Otherwise, sorry but I'm stumped.
If your still stuck and no one can give you any better suggestions, you best bet is to probably either email or ph support.

OR see if you can find some info that might be of help in the "knownledge base" which is on the page you come to when first coming to this KE site. OR, maybe one of the other threads in here.

Sorry and good luck,

Adlai

OR, click on the RF G3 icon, then under the RUN REALFLIGHT click on "Additional Options" then on "Read Help File" then under "CONTENTS" look for "Appendix C:If you experience problems with RF G3"
Still stumped after all this, then try this. After clicking on "Additional Options" click on "Technical Support".

Good luck

kwbird,

If you haven't already. In the RF G3 section, under "Presales Questions" look for "Realflight G3 graphics card support" for info about your card.

The registration server should be working as of a couple of days ago. The heli release was overestimated - it will be a matter of weeks, not months.

Anyone know if the server is working yet? I still can not register, and I have tried it on 4 different PCs, 3 in the USA and one here in Egypt.

I tried, off & on, for 2 years to register my G2 - so far I'm half registered. RF recognizes that I'm registered - they recognize my user and pw - but won't allow me to get updates or do anything else that requires a user name and password. I finally quit corresponding with them and quit trying to get my registration straight. However, as you can see, I can still complain. I won't be buying G3.

The solution to not being able to register is simple, get rid of G3, I did it, but unfortunately, I had also gotten rid of G2 in expecations of G3. Wonder what I shall do now. I still have the add-ons.
