I won't have my copy until tomorrow. But after reading the forums and doing a little research I can tell you it all has to do with your video card. RF3 requires a directX 9+ video card. Even if you have DX9 installed that does not mean your card will support the features it needs to run RF. Sorry to say this, but if you want to play you will have to upgrade your vid card. I saw some post that RF might come up with a work around for non DX9 compliant video cards, however I would not count on it.

It comes down to this, if you want a sim that is more and more realistic than it's going to need an increasingly better PC to run.

Also I have read that many people are having trouble with the registration process, it would appear that the servers everyone is trying to hit are having issues or are down. And with the holiday break I'm sure they probably won't resolve that until this week.

Sorry wish I could offer more help. :(

Thanks Mark. I guess that i new that but was hopeing not to have to spend the extra money. $200 for the sim, $250 for the vidio card, $800 for the computer, wow , Ive got rc planes that cost less than that. Thanks again for your help.

No problem. Wish I had better news for you. A flying buddy of mine ran into the same problem today and promptly went over to Best Buy and picked up an ATI 9600xt and now it runs great. I believe you can pick one up for $150 to $200. If you can wait a few days you can get it online cheaper. I use mwave.com for most of my computer shopping.

Here is a link to the vid card section: http://www.mwave.com/ (http://www.mwave.com/mwave/deptvid.hmx?updepts=video.hmx&dname=Video+Cards)

I'm a big fan of the ATI cards, I have an x800. But that's a $400.00 card. The 9600 series should work just fine for you. :)

hey mstreed,

as a big fans of the ATI, you could help me.

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite 1110, and its come with the MOBILITY RADEON video card, teh problems is that FSim G3 apparently doesnt work with it.

What can i do to solve these ? I am not in a position to change the video card or even throw away my laptop.

Acording to the minimum requirement I should be OK, ggrrr. that never happens

I have a radeon 9000 in my generic laptop (ECS Elitegroup), with 512 ram, 2.4 ghz P4. Ati wouldn't supply a new driver for the gaphics card as it is in a laptop, and the latest from ECS didn't help. After some googleing I found this link, http://omegadrivers.net/. I loaded his driver and now it works. With everything on between 18 and 20 some frames per second, with most of the extras turned off between 160 and 190 frames per second. Try it you'll like it.
