I just installed G3.All went well till I tried to start it.I got an error saying"error creating effectpropdisk"
The program just stops here & when I retry I get the same message!
What's going on here? I'm using a new HP Pavillion 3000PC with 512 memory,160 H Drive,2.6GHZ speed, Not sure of the graphics card but it does have 64MB memory & works well with all other prog's and passes all DirectX tests!
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

It is very likely you have a graphics card issue. Either an incompatible card or out of date drivers. A list of tested graphics cards is available here (http://12.156.2.54/forums/showthread.php?t=9216)

What graphics card are you using?

planeman, run the RealFlight Launcher, click "Additional Options", and click "Technical Support". It will take a few seconds to scan your system, then pop up a new dialog. You can use this to determine what type of video card you have. You should see something like the following:

System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 1 (2600.xpsp2.030422-1633)
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1700MHz
Memory: 1024MB RAM
DX Version: DirectX 9.0b (4.09.0000.0902)
Video Card: RADEON 9800 XT
MFR: ATI Technologies Inc.
Version: 6.14.0010.6458 (English)
Date: 6/10/2004 21:57:24, 207360 bytes
.......<followed by more info>........

We're interested in the lines I've bolded above. Let us know what it says on your computer, and we'll be better able to help you. Alternatively, you can contact RealFlight Technical Support (http://www.gpsoftware.com/contacts.htm) for assistance.

I received your email. Unfortunately, you have an S3 KM400/KN400, which is an onboard/integrated chipset that won't be able to run more demanding graphics-intensive applications like RealFlight G3. There's simply nothing we can do to make it work with that graphics device.

However, if you want to upgrade your video card, there are a number of options, and you don't necessarily need to spend a lot of money. Click here to view a list of supported graphics cards (http://12.156.2.54/forums/showthread.php?t=9216). Other people on these forums can offer suggestions as to the cost/benefit ratio of the various options, as well as their own experiences using them.

I've received your messages and went out & bought a e-geforce fx #5200 video card with 128 mb memory $full Directx-9 compatibility.
I've just done the installation and will let you know the results.
I sure hope this works because because the money spent on G3 plus the video card has nearly killed the ol' budget.
Please in future reply to me directly via email. My address is planeman@rogers.com
Thanks for your help!
