I'm really getting tired of the babies out there, yes there are some bugs, yes there are some things missing, and yes perhaps they should have been there from the beginning, but I for one am happy to have it and I know the KE teem are working to fix and add to the software, they have taken care of some already, and while I'm not a professional R/C pilot like some of you think you are. I found that in many ways it is very accurate to real flight, and I'm sure it will only get better, as for not releaseing it till the bugs were worked out, hell if Microsoft waited we would still be running DOS, I for one am glad were not. Also you have to realize the multitude of video cares and sound cards, and other hardware that is out there, along with all the drivers for them that it's damn near a meracle that it runs as well as it dose on as many platforms that it does. And lastly if I were running a discussion page and some uncredentialed butthead decided to flame my product I would delete his thread too, hell he probably works for the competition, and doesn't want to see his share go down.

So let's hear from some of the people who have good comments, and/or constructive comments, I'm sure there is a silent majority out there who would probably agree.

Hold on there Buck Rogers! :D

I like change....when I'm in control! Most people do not like change when they are not in control....so it's a natural reaction when you hear people giving their opinion "out of frustration" when things do not work....as they had expected.

That being said.....I'm enjoying flying the Mistral glider at "full speed" on the slopes and seeing how far down the moutain slopes I can make it on the default wind settings. I got pretty far actually but was getting sleepy so kind of let it land softly on the green grass on the mountan tops. I have actually been slope flying the Cap plane and it's really fun to....just for a change. :)

In order for me to get Gee3 working on my PC.....I had to buy a new video card. The card I was using....for video capturing is an ATI Radeon All In Wonder AGP 32 megs DDR memory and was working just fine...."until" I bought Gee3. I think this is the common link among people who felt they had a PC that had ample system requirements to make Gee3 work....and when the "video card issue" surfaced en mass.....I think again....a natural reaction for many....me included....is to feel that the horse was behind the cart....on this one.

I am not harboring any malice or ill feelings toward anyone about this issue.....but sometimes when the advertising states minimal system requirements and then doesn't live up to that....you get people upset for not offering a true disclosure. Just my observations.

I did buy an ATI Radeon 9200 AGP 128 megs DDR memory card and now need to "learn" how best to set it up inside of R/F so it is optimized while using the sim. Anyone else have any settings they have found that work best with this video card? I have tinkered with the settings last night but it was getting late so knocked off and hit the sack.

You set your standards too low. I don't work for the competition and don't own stock in any rc related products. I just enjoy the hobby of radio control. All aspects of it. But if a manufacturer can't take critical opinions, tisk tisk, it comes with the territory. Besides, they are customer service employees and get paid for listening to us complain if we are not satisfied. Not hang up on us. Have you ever owned G2 ? I am sure you would notice a difference. Well anyway I hope G3 gets the updates for this program on their website soon. I am only the tip of the iceburg. Wait until Christmas when they open up the new G3, install it and find out it does not work as advertized. Then you will see all kinds of postings on this web site. Just be glad that you are not on the receivng end.

Just to make things clear:
Customer service is not affiliated with these forums in anyway. These forums are run by Knife Edge Software, developers of RealFlight, and are moderated by Knife Edge employees. They are intended to help customers by providing a way to share information, help each other out, and generally learn more about what is happening in the RC world. We provide support and respond to posts when we have the time. Many of us read these forums on a daily basis but do not have time to respond as we are busy working (currently on the heli release).

We do the best that we can to respond to customer issues and provide solutions to the problems that our customers encounter. I would encourage everyone that has a legitimate complaint, bug to report, and/or other issue to post with as much detail as possible and to be polite - you will probably get much better feedback than you would otherwise.

;) And BTW I think you guys are doing a GREAT JOB!
I myself am Loving the **** out of G3

Heck even with G2 there were plenty of bugs. I still
play around with it as well.. there both great products!

I am sure in a few months a lot of the bugs will be
taken care of. We ALL need to be more patient. And let
these guys and gals get there work done!

Yes they do:
need to know what problems your having , not how much
you hate the product

I certainly agree with treating people with respect. Be kind to others....even if your not completely satisfied and more times than not....things work out for the best.

You guys keep up the good work....hang in there and in time you'll get enough positive feedback to help offset the negatives. I know....I'm a computer tech myself. :)

A point of positive feedback for you all......I got my new video card installed on my desktop and I am impressed with Gee3. I call it Gee3 because it makes me think....Gee....we didn't have programs like this when I was a kid! :)

Best Regards!

I don't set my standards too low, sure I would like more and I'm sure I will get more, but yelling and crying wouln't help matters any.

I'm pretty sure that everyone already knows how I feel about G3 but I'm going to say it again anyway.

I'm VERY HAPPY with RF G3.

Anyone remember the ambrosia RC Flight Sim?
I paid $ 225 for it and it only came with a 1.4mb floppy disk!

I agree with the comments.

I would much rather see a beta version released 3 months early with a few bugs tha having to wait for the final release!!!!!

I had to buy my version from the states, wont be released in the uk till Feb next year!!!!

Still cant get the add ons to work though, maybe a scusi hardware problem............

Main prog works more than fine, had to upgrade to a G 6800 though.........

I have whined for the reason that I am an owner of many sims and many planes, I expect a new simulator to be better than one I have previously owned and as g3 dissapointed me with the flight physics, the new 3d physics being the main crux of the problems I am dissapointed. I bought the sim on the advertising of the new 3d flying physics and really they are crap. If I was a sunday flyer the physics are fine but for an advanced pilot I expect more with the current aerofly and xtr physics systems out there. Nothing wrong with bitching and moaning about a poor product that I payed for

Have you upped the physics settings from medium to highest?

I would be happy too if G3 ran on my system! I have an Athlon 64 FX-55 and a ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition, the cream of the crop in terms of hardware and I get an error that prevents me from loading G3. This is one of the buggiest software releases in recent memory. To pay $220 for it makes it hurt even more. Last time I checked, this IS a freaking support board. I think that explains why people bitch, whine, and complain.

Some of you are funny to listen too.. This is my first post here. I fly unmanned aircraft for a living and I am the flight instructor for our company. I have taught many people how to fly R/C airplanes, and later, how to fly unmanned aircraft. Can anyone guess what program that I used to teach them to fly with???? That's right, Real Flight G2. Yes is has a few bugs and so does G3.. But guess what, so does the opperating system on the computer that you are using to complain with.

I am not saying that you do not have to right to complain, just be mature about it. I just purchased G3 for my self and I have to say that I love it. My kids have already learned to take off and land on there own and it did not cost me a plane. It may not me the most realistic in some aspects, but define realistic. No one plane will ever fly the same, so how can you expect the developers to get it perfect. The intent of the software is to teach, and it does it verry well. I just installed the Heli update today and they fly realy well.

Sorry for the long post... Everyone have a safe new year.

Look Ramora, most of the complaints are not that it has small problems. It just doesn't work at all. I don't think that asking it to boot up is unreasonable.

My system (Dell 1.7 Ghz) far exceeds all published requirements, and the program won't boot at all. Just error messages.

There are MANY posts with people having exactly the same problem I have, which is "Error creating effect GrassBillboards". The only solution that appears to work is buy a new computer.

Glad your setup is working Ramora, but get off the rest of our asses.

"Error creating effect GrassBillboards".This error is nearly always caused by an incompatible graphics card. The list of tested/supported graphics cards is available here (http://12.156.2.54/forums/showthread.php?t=9216).

The only solution that appears to work is buy a new computer. The simplest solution is to get a supported graphics card from the list (http://12.156.2.54/forums/showthread.php?t=9216).

I guess my point is that my computer runs every other program on the planet, including Doom 3 and other graphics intensive programs. It does not run G3, nor do a lot of other computers that meet your system requirements.

If I have to buy a new card to run your program, then your published system requirements are wrong and you need to change them.

Some people have obviously mastered the "Art" of griping, but when it comes times to help out..................Silence is golden. :)

Hey wait just a done gone minute there I paid $ 200 plus for this sim and I'm going to get my $500 worth out of it, if its the last thing I ever do!

I wasn't much good at "griping" in the past but my experiences w/G3 have now gotten me on a professional level ;)

Thanks got out to the good folks at KE & Greatplanes  oh and lets not forget the "BetaTeam" myself included

Ah...you finally found your calling then?
I'll be sure to check out other RC disscussion board sites in the future to check out your work, once you apply it to the new sim you just got.

Some of my work on other forums can be found HERE (http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/Posting_G3_re%2Dpaints_here/m_2517797/tm.htm) I go by "peefiddyonfan" at all the other forums BTW

This is the last "waste" of my time I'm going to spend with you.
The key words are "IN THE FUTURE".
You had your round of nit picking with G3.
Have to give you some time to get into the "new RC sim" that you have now changed to so you can then start your nit picking on that sim. I'm almost positive that you'll be able to do it. Don't worry I have faith in you, you can do it!

Decided to bring this one up cause it was getting all dusty way back on the 11th page of this section.

Really pissed about G3? Post about it here?
