Hello. I have just received my G3 and I am unable to run it in my portable. I'd appreciate any hint to solve this problem.

1 - I installed G3 in a Acer Aspire 1700. Whenever I start it, the upper menu bar is drawn and the rest of the screen shows garbage, then appears a message window with the text "Error creating effect PropDisk", and after pressing OK it finally appears a message window with the header "RealFlight Generation 3: RealFlight.exe - Application Error" and the text "The instruction at "0x77f8206b" referenced memory at "0x000000a0". The memory could not be read.Click on OK to terminate the program. Click on CANCEL to debug the program."

2 - After updating G3 from the Internet, the same sequence happens but now instead of garbage a normal screen with a "Loading Terrain" bar and the text "Scene: Sierra Nevada" is presented. After the bar is filled the message "Error creating effect PropDisk" is presented again and the program aborts.

3 - This also happens after installing the latest graphics drivers from SiS (Nov-2004) and reinstalling DirectX 9.0c. Of course I have also tried uninstalling antivirus, firewall, etc. etc. DirectX diagnostics are also ok. Windows 2000 is SP4.

Juan,

I'm sorry, but the SiS graphics card in your laptop is not one of our supported/tested cards.

Yes it seems that is the sad truth.

The fact that the SiS home page is referred in this web site gave me some hope.

I have received a generic answer from support that gives no hope at all.

It ignores though the other problem I describe in another thread (Add-on installation does nothing),

Thanks.
