Be sure to read the manual and take at least one step-by-step Wings 3D tutorial (I'd recommend the dog house one). Like any 3D program you will not learn to use it just by downloading and opening the program. You must study and experiment with it over a period of time to become proficient. An airplane should not be the first thing you try to model. Learn to use the program first.
For example, I've been doing basic 3D drawings with AutoCAD for years and it still took me a couple of months to get comfortable with Wings. And yet, I'm still not comfortable with MAX and I've been using it for six months.
I don't mind helping, or I wouldn't have posted the tutorial, but you've got to do your home work and really try on your own first or you won't learn. Knowing the ten things that will not work (and why) is more important than knowing the one that will (without knowing why).
