Real Flight Deluxe on Windows XP not recognizing the Transmitter Interface
I recently did a fresh install of Windows XP and Real Flight Deluxe does not recognize the Transmitter Interface which allows me to use my own transmitter. I have a USB printer, so the Transmitter Interface is on the LPT1 port by itself. RFD was working great on Win98, what can I do?
Thanks, James |

In the same boat
Hey,
Just bought RealFlight Classic with the transmitter adapter. I've upgraded to v1.2, and installed the RealFlight driver manually. But I cannot get RealFlight to recognize my transmitter under XP Professional (or XP Home Edition). Here are my specs: PC P3 dual 933 GeForce3 256 RAM Transmitter JR Quattro Lite FM Any ideas? I've tried all the suggestions in the "I cannot get my interface to acknowledge my transmitter" from the RealFlight support website (save for the BIOS tweaking), but I've had no luck. - Joseph |

A fix that worked for me!
A very nice tech support person from Hobbico walked me through a BIOS change.
Basically, he had me switch my printer port setting to "ECP" (it was set to "Normal" before--other options were "EPP" and "ECP/EPP"). If this sounds too technical and/or doesn't help, I'd say give the tech-support line a call. - Joseph |

Problem Fixed
DOH! Once I installed the upgrade, RFD was able to detect and install the transmitter interface. I also set the printer port to ECP in the BIOS.
Thanks for your help and Happy Flying. |
