Taurus
Another request to JB or Jeff...not sure if either of you guys are doing
the mapping and colors for the Taurus.... but Jeff you made up a good looking rim / tire combo that would be a nice touch on the Taurus. Even nicer if the rim could be colored to dictate an early dubro..."chrome" rim. Could this be done? http://www.knifeedge.com/forums/atta...chmentid=34202 Been working with physics for the Taurus a little more. Have a couple varients. One which would be more or less like being powered with a .35 Another powered with simularity of a .40 -.45. Worked on the throws a little bit. Expo, hi and low rates have also been worked on. JB..think I mentioned in an earlier post , had the dihedral at 4 deg. Saw a video of a Taurus with a lot more than 4 deg in it. No maneuvers thow. Just level flight. Believe this might have been an option during building. Tried this with 4 deg as I mentioned. Nice flyer..but, ahh not a performer. Dropped it down to 2. Straight level inverted is alot better..and will knife edge but, still in needs stick control which is the way it should be. With second power choice {.40-.45} , will out side loop with out "too" much trouble..from the bottom. Still have to fly it though. Not a 3d machine or a 4s power machine that relies on power to fly it threw maneuvers. Got it flying like a decent sport flier and still going back and forth "tweaking" after flights to find more. If I knew how to toss this to either of you guys, I'd send it so you could try it and let me know what ya thought. I enjoy flying this one. Definitely gunnah have to build this one. Boof..also worked on your Kaos a little bit. Would you mind if I posted up an AV for this one also? |

I can put a more chrome looking wheel on it. That's not a problem. The physics will have to wait. What I'll post will be a completely different model, so the physics will have to be done from scratch. I will get to the Taurus when I'm done with my current build. Should be just a couple of weeks or so. I love being an amateur, No deadlines!

Jeff, the way they did those wings back then, and some still do today. They were built flat, up side down on a table. Load a temp object, scale up on x, then place it flush with the top of all the length of the wing, as a sthight edge. Keep it flush in the center of the wing, then move the tips up or down untill stright from tip to tip on top of wing. Thebottom will be right.

I'm still waiting for a reply from JB. I guess you could say I lost interest.

If Jeff has lost the interest of finishing this, could you please finish the mapping and whatever else has to be done and load this one? Thanks, Hab |

The thread on the Taurus starts some time ago and has (to say the least) taken many turns and twists....
OK, it is now 2012. With proper respect to everyone involved, what is the present state of the Taurus model?? What can we do to help bring it to the swaps? Thanks |

Load the EA from post 79 then the AV from 85. That"s about as good as your going to get right now
![]() The original guy who was going to build it has (Lets say a checkered past and been banned for it under many different aliases)

Thanks Norton.
It's sad the original work ended and all the events surrounding it. Kudos to JB for picking up the gauntlet and making the 2nd version. Have both the EA and AV already, and was just wondering where progress is right now (status of file(s), who has them, etc). I was going to pursue using the Taurus as a first CS learning project, thinking it would be a good CS & GIMP challenge and perhaps offer it on the swaps, as there are probably others who would like to see this plane fully in RF. However, the plane is not presently in a GIMP usable state (not mapped if I understand the terminology correctly), so another will have to be found. |
