If messing with a power supply were so deadly, would almost every store that carries electronics carry them for the general public to buy? Just use a little common sense and dont go sticking your fingers everywhere.

And BTW, that is the same good advise about the "meat grinders" turning next to those spinners! Have seen too many pictures of people leaning OVER the prop arc to make needle adjustments. Better to do so from behind the plane. OK, OK I'm off topic again.

Always a good Idea to hit the Machines start button after unplugging it to discharge the capacitors , no matter what your tinkering with

There is NO danger takeing a power supply apart, unless you are Edward Sissor Hands!

But why would you? If you have a defective supply, replace it. They're not that expensive. The unused wires don't bother me!!

I dont think so. An electrician knows how to take the power supply apart because they know how to do. Noone else doesn´t know it therefore they leave it and just blow the otside and through the ventholes with compressed air blowing, I havn´t said anything more than that. Next time, read my posts more carefully before you write something back please or if you don´t understand them, read them again or use google translate.

The only thing you have to do is to clean your PC inside with compressed air blowing INCLUDING the power supply. If you wan´t your PC to work for many years you should do this. It´s exactly the same with a car, if you not mainaining it you´ll slowly kill it. No more discussion about this.

Ok, no more discussion. There is no need to take apart your power supply. Thank you for finally coming around.
