Windows 7 64Bit
Anyone help me out with this one.
I have a Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit PC with more than enough power. I dug my unopened copy of G4.5 out and tried to install it. On runing the setup from the autorun its simply does nothing. I have no more info than that. Steve. |

Not true. The program will install without the Interlink plugged in. RF will not run without it. Data Execution Prevention or something else is not allowing the installation. Call tech support. http://gpsoftware.com/contacts.htm

Finally, I've been able to install my copy of G4/4.5 on my Windows 7 machine.
What was wrong - I was receiving these messages: Warning - Unable to remove read-only attribute from copied file: <path to Users directory>\AppData\Local\Temp\Installer\setup2.exe Error - KEError 15012: Failed copying <CD drive letter>:\setup\setup2.exe to <path to Users directory>\AppData\Local\Temp\Installer\setup2.exe " Error - KEError 15012: Error copying main installer to disk. Installation aborted. How I got it to install: Made sure DEP was set correctly. McAfee Security Center was the problem. I opened the software and turned everything off (choosing to leave it off until I rebooted my PC). Then, the product installed successfully. Still - no go. How I got around the next problem (corrupt/missing ini file): It couldn't find the ini. The problem here was the "&" symbol in the account I was using. I made a new one called "RealFlight" and gave it administrative privledges. Then, I changed the Launcher shortcut to "run with adminstrative privledges". Still - no go. How I got around the last problem (no Interlink Elite detected). I moved to a different USB connection and Windows successfully loaded the device as a game controller. |
