That is almost the right motor. It should have been Model Motors AXI AC5360_20 Fe2b. If that isn't a typo on your part, I wonder how that got messed up in the EA.

I really have no idea what is going on with the missing motor. I have double checked and the physics points to a custom motor:
Model Motors AXI AC5360_20 Fe2b That custom engine exists under my Electric Motors users file: The only thing I can think of that might possibly have messed things up is that there is also an entry for: Model Motors AXI AC5360_20 I could try reposting after deleting the 2nd entry and see if that improves things. But that is a real shot in the dark.

Here is an EA after I deleted the 2nd entry I mentioned just above ("Model Motors AXI AC5360_20").
Can someone who has had trouble loading the aircraft delete the imported version from the swap pages, and retry with this and see if this EA works better. Thanks! [Now removed]

I just checked it out and an odd thing happened. I was prompted that I already had the motor and gave me the option to overwrite. I did and everything seems normal. This may be a RF6 thing. Deewing had a motor import problem with my FK14 Le Mans even though I used a default engine for it.

I'm tempted to report it as a bug in RF6, but I don't know how I would prove that either.

Excellent model. I've had no such issues with the motor. Everything works as advertised. ![]() Thanks for your efforts. |

No... that was not a typo. I typed exactly what I saw... I loaded the aircraft this morning (computer shut down overnight)... no message... and the plane loaded and flew. I deleted the aircraft and two versions of the electric motor (I had previously Dl'd the aircraft)
I Dl'd the latest version. I got the same message of the missing motor again after the DDS was created. I changed back to a stock aircraft and closed RF6. I restarted RF6 and selected the plane both from the selector and from the previous plane list... NO PROBLEM, with the plane and no message was generated. I want to wish you the best of luck in your fight. Stay Strong. ![]()

![]() Thanks for both of you taking the time to look at this. I appreciate it. At this point it is pretty evident the bug is on the import side of things in RF6. I'm going to create a bug report in the main RF6 board. I'm also going to leave up the file I have on the swaps since that does not appear to be where the problem lies.

That is correct (if odd, not really) behavior... whenever you import a model that has a component that is already on your machine, it will ask you if you want to overwrite... as is usually ok... it would not be ok if you (or someone else) had made substantial changes to the physical characteristics of the component. Deleting an aircraft does not remove all the custom components that installing the aircraft puts on your machine. It would be hard to know if it is shared, so the removal just leaves these nuts on the ground.
I would agree, that problem likely lies in the RF import module. Something is getting twisted. Or, it could be my installation is a bit messed up. Don't see anything else abnormal (except Jeff). Quote:

It was odd because the first import said the motor wasn't found. Also it wasn't in motors list. I deleted that first import. Imported MR's edit and got a message to overwrite the motor I originally didn't have. Odd.

I imported the EA listed in the thread. I did not import the swap pages one at all. I had no errors.
It's a beautiful model, adding to the conspiracy theory that this can not be a beginner's model!! Nice job. Last edited by jeffpn; 08-20-2012 at 09:17 PM. |

Thanks Jeff. It is amazing what pure refusal to quit can accomplish.

Here's a question asked for the benefit of anyone playing the home version: Would you say that you are proof that anyone can model??
