Try re-installing Realflight from the main directory of a local drive or USB drive.

RealFlight 8 is different from all of its predecessors in this regard. We were able to do something that has been on the wishlist for quite some time and integrate the DirectX installation into the main RF installation. That means it's all or nothing. It won't let you install RF without the special DX9 helper .DLLs it requires. You are guaranteed to have them after RF8 finishes installing.
Luis, you must be doing something nonstandard with your installation attempt. It should not be looking for that file there. I suggest you contact RealFlight Support for assistance. |

Having the same issue with the 16114, and16118 error when trying to install my digital download onto my windows 10 laptop. Tried the suggestions posted above, but still cant get it to install. Sent support a line, but thought I would ask here too. Installed and runs fine on my big gaming PC.

Hello
The installer is a bit bitchy. There must be no space in the folder where the "Realflight_8_Installer.exe" is. Copy it to C: \ Realflight_8_Installer.exe and then the setup will run without problems. Kind regards Sven |

Oh I got it installed. Support suggested creating a new user account, then admin rights, install, and back to one user account and its flying now, thanks.

I have down loaded the VR software from Tower Hobbies and have spent around 3 days, including today going round in circles. TH won't refund me my cash so I've opened a PayPal dispute to get it refunded. I have never had any problems uploading Realflight from Version 2 onwards, BUT they were all disk uploads. Had an email from an RF person called H.Carman detailing a 'fix'. Never worked. Tried the idea here regarding putting it into the C drive..again didn't work. Totally going nowhere with this and the moral of this story is...never pay for a down load; get the disk and never buy from overseas. ![]() Last edited by GordonB; 12-21-2017 at 11:07 AM. Same problem
Same exact problem on windows 10. Run as admin don't do anything. I don't have a goofy config. This is the only program that has this issue so I am thinking from an online download perspective the issue is not on my end and it is something with the .exe scripts pointing to the wrong directories.

What is the moral of this story? NEVER DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE WHEN A DISK IS AVAILABLE AND NEVER DOWNLOAD FROM AN OVERSEAS SITE ![]() PS.....PayPal ruled in my favour and Tower Hobbies refunded my $99.99 in full. A nice Christmas ending ![]() ![]() |

GordonB, glad you got what you felt is right, however, at least in CA it is illegal to return software because it can be uploaded to you pc and all you need is an activation code.
I had the same errors and tried the following based on the above suggestions. First i tried moving the .exe file into the c drive and all that but still the same thing. then i did as tomt in post 6 did. for windows 10 click the home key then go to settings. Once there you will see an icon labeled accounts with a little outline of a person, click here. Then on the left hand side there will be an icon labeled family and other people click that then click the plus sign that says add someone else to this pc. I believe the key here is to create a username that does not have any spaces. My original account had my first name then a space and my sur name. My error read exactly like Luis's "c:\Users\luis\Directx\dsetup.dll " except there was a mike instead of luis. I think the break in my user name made what ever was finding the file give up or it wasn't named right. Anyway when i made the user name just mike and then ran the .exe it pulled up a release form instead of the error message and everything went smoothly from there. |
