Here's one you can fly now. It's old but it works with RF8-9. May or not be as detailed as the one being produced now but they guy who built it created the Westland Lynx we have in the Simulator today.

Downloaded the file which was zipped but when I unzipped, got 7 files. Did a search of forum for help but couldn't find anything on how I import these in RF9.

Go back to the page you downloaded it from and click the link that shows up as a Gold Question Mark that will tell you how to import it.

I read that before I posted and it shows selecting a single file for import, not 7 separate ones. Do I just import the P39 model .KEX file? The largest file appears to be a .TGA file

Found the answer in another thread. Seems to have installed properly. Time for a test flight...

..Looks like it needs a bit of tweaking for RF9. Guess I get to learn more about editing aircraft...

Try adjusting your CG first, usually, that`s the most prominent adjustment that has too be made.

Thanks

Yes, I moved the CG forward and dialed in a little more throw in the elevator. I notice now the airplane wants to go nose down when flaps are deployed.

I'm going to see if there might be some mixing of down elevator with the flaps. If that's the case it makes sense that the new CG position would require less of that.

I also noticed the plane has a tendency to not stay in a banked attitude. It seems to want to return to level flight on it's own. Not sure what might be causing that.

You`ve got to be careful with the CG ......."sometimes", the closer you get to where the plane "likes it" , the more sensitive it gets, thus requiring smaller adjustments as you get closer, takes a little tweaking . As far as the banking goes, it could be the air foil, there are lots of planes that require constant aileron input in a bank, in order to maintain the particular angle you want.

RE the banking, I feel silly. The ailerons were just out of trim a bit. I finally realized it was just happening in one direction. duh

I took the graph points to zero on the elev mixing and it's just fine without them. Made another small change to the CG and it's pretty much perfect for me. Really enjoying it !!
