3DSMax importable file types

Could someone who owns 3dsmax list the file types that can be imported. I was wondering so that if I get a model that is of good enough quality to be imported i can post it in a format so that no coversion is needed before it can be imported into 3dsmax for export as a .kex file. Thanks in advance.

*If the file type support is different for different versions please note what version of 3dsmax you are using.

I found a copy of 3dsmax8 available on ebay for about $50 + $10 shipping, is it worth the price?

A new student discount copy runs $150, so yes it is worth it.

If you want to start off with something free, I'd recommend Wings 3D. It exports 3DS files that can be loaded into 3DSMAX. But remember there is still a fair bit of work that needs to be done in 3DSMAX, before the end result is ready to export to RealFlight.

If it's a legitimate version with the dongle, RUN do not walk and get it!

The real thing is approximately 4,000.00 in price.

Yeah I saw that ebay auction and he doesn't mention anything about it being a "student edition". For $50 I would be 99.9% sure its just a copy of the software with a crack to run it and if thats what your looking for why bother spending the $50 Max8 goes for $3500 so do you really believe he could be selling legit copies
