I started working on the canopy today and got quite a bit done but I still have to finish shaping it and cleaning it up, so there's still a lot of work to do. But I have to stop for now and get some stuff done for the wife so here's a picture of where it's at.

No big deal just a tiny bit more work to finish the wide frame around the canopy.

How I spent my final days of the year - I had to do some serious editing of the video ... but at least my wife tried (surprised she even came with me to the field) ...

Shouldn't there be frames around the windscreen & the forward & rear canopies - more like your post#51? Or is it a single large canopy for both? Or am I just missing something?

It was just highlighted differently. Here's what you're talking about and what will be in the CS file to color the frame.

I figured I was just missing something... I've never designed a plane or used 3DS.

I just don't have that many hours in a day ...

That is why god created TECHNOID!

Looking great ...

I flew your Big Red Bipe the other day ... what a fine plane that is to just barnstorm around ... And you said in the notes, that that was your 1st ... wow.

A bit more work on the T-28 today I put the intake on the top of the cowl and added my seven cylinder radial to make it look the part a bit better. I think the intake on the top of the cowl is a tiny bit too wide but I used the two top segments of the 3d model to create it. Let me know what you think I really don't want to have to create it again but I will if it doesn't work for everyone. Here's a couple of renders. Oh I'm sure you'll notice the lack of dihedral.

And a couple of renders of the engine since DDawg might not have seen it before. I modeled it last year as a five cylinder radial and then when RF-8 came out with a lot more triangles for the modeler to use I added two more cylinders.

Hell yeah ... that is sweet looking ...

there was once a time I used to play with 3dsmax 8 ... many moons ago.

I even dabbed in acad 2.62 ... lol ... ancient history now.

Your cowl scoop looks fine ... I am not going to pull out a micrometer and a ruler to measure it ...
I am a firm believer in "if it looks right, its close enough"

Not many will know if its exact or not.

I feel it looks close ... are you going for operational cowl flaps as well? Not really needed, but just one of those little detail things ...

I hope you are not getting into burn out stage ... This is turning into one fine looking project!

I personally love the fact you're sharing your progress ...

A rare Blue Angel paint scheme ... they never flew the T-28's, and never did any Public shows flying them ... (Correction made due to deeper research)
