can't get realfight G2 to load

I updated my graphics card and sound card.

graphics: nvidia geforce2 mx 100/200

sound: Creative Soundblaster Audigy player

I then load the .exe, it shows the "loading program" screen, i then hear the loading noise then a few secs later, the screen disappears and the sound suddenly stops.

Any ideas?

Max

IF you're hearing a loading sound then your loading ramp probably needs resurfacing.

What is your os?

Hello, I had the same issue, I had to go back to an early version of my Nvida drivers.. 29.42. Then it all worked fine. Support are aware of this issue but are placing the blame on Nivida... which is fine, but it would have been nice, or even useful to have told me/us exactly where the issue is.... I did ask them, but sad to say no answer. Further more the latest drivers from Nivdia 40.71 still stop it running. Hope that helps.

Gee, I've got the latest version of the Nvidia driver and RFg2 runs just great on my computer. Or maybe I just thought it was running.

Wait a second while I fire it up and check...

No problem here.

nVidia drivers fail for me too

I too had to "roll back" my Windows XP video driver to an earlier version to make G2 work. With the latest nVidia driver, the program tries to load for about 5 seconds and then stops.

first note then back to desktop

This letter is from Mary at Realflight Tech/Software support, to whom i'd like to thank for her help and confirmation of this problem:

HI Larry,
I recently tried the 40 series driver and my RealFlight G2 wouldn't start. When I backed it off to the 29.42 driver my program started working again. I agree that this is a problem. I have emailed my contact at nVidia about it. Thank you so much for the information you provided. As for payment.....hehehehe should I just say the check is in the mail NOT..... I wish I could collect on the hours I spend doing this as well...
Sincerely,
Mary

Kinda nails down a Realflight/Nvidia video driver issue, doesn't it. At least I know I'm not (too) crazy.

same pb here

Also tried 30.82, 40.71, and it still doesn't load. I hear a tone, then I'm back to desktop.

RF runs fine with detonator 27.52 on my system.

Hi.

Same problem here.
my system is : AMD K6-2 3D 450Mhz
128 Mb ram
RIVA TNT2 M64 32Mb video card
Soundblaster 128 PCI

i just installed it, then when i ran it a huge file RF????.dck was copied and then NOTHING.

i reset my computer start RF, the LOADING screen appears, after a few seconds it disappears and still nothing.

when i push CTRL-ALT-DELETE after a few minutes i see realflight.exe not responding.

i also DL-ed the 29.42 driver and it still doesnt run.
anyone an idea how to solve this problem ?

i run W98SE and Win XP..on both operatingsystems it won't run
