No, they sell it as bind and fly only, but you can pick up a DX5 transmitter for $60 to use with it. I've seen used DX5's listed on EBay for as low as $10. From what I understand, the transmitter from the MCX helicopter will also bind to the Micro Sukhoi. A Spektrum module for the Futaba should also work, but that might be more of a pain than it's worth.

Love to try it...
I haven't started modeling this little plane for RealFlight yet. I wanted to have the real plane sitting in front of me to take real measurements from and to tweak the physics model so it flies right.

My budget is getting kind of crippled here lately. It may be some time before I can get to this project. I will let you all know when I pick up the real model and get started on the RealFlight model. If anyone else wants to tackle the project, by all means, do so.

AV Work in Progress

I picked up this little plane the other day, nice lil' flyer, albeit a tad nose heavy out of the box...There is a nice thread over at rcuniverse on this model, CG solutions and many more ideas for tweaks.

Anyway, I know this will never rival the accuracy of a scratch-designed RF model, but I got to thinking...How close could I get with the Sukhoi from Add Ons 3? I have been working on this while dialing in the real one, so it is very much still a work in progress. I have the size, weight, and power pretty close, the flight physics are getting closer. It won't be perfect, but it will hold me over until one day it gets designed in RF.

I took a break from the physics side and started my CS tonight, I still have plenty to do...Here's tonight's progress. Foam texture, bell-cranks, fuse graphics...I guess that's it. Dang, that took a while anyway, sadly.

Dansmark and Apollo, thanks for your interest. I didn't want to hijack Haiduk's build thread, but yes, I will have a download to share soon, I hope.

It definately needs many more test flights and tweaks, I haven't even started to dial in the control surfaces yet, so the throws and servo speeds are still out of whack, but I can fly it like the real one. So, it's still a few more flights away from better replicating the RWM.

Stay tuned and thanks for the support.

Spent a few more minutes on the physics, but I got distracted finishing the CS last night. I'm happy, certainly looks the part considering I am stuck with the physical model I have to work with. CS is done save for some detail work, but this is basically how it will look.

And in the sim...

I don't have my RWM yet, so I can't compare. But I've enjoyed it on RF.

This is awesome, but will it work in G3.5 too, or just G4 ?

Thanks for your hard work!!

Jeff, although your avatar always gives me a headache after a few seconds, ouch...You are absolutely correct. The donor model is the Sukhoi from Add-ons 3, which requires at least RF G4...and Add-ons 3!

Thanks Griff! I may have to give the first headbanger a break when I get home. I'm camping this weekend, and using my mobile for access.
