Jeff,

I'm assuming we are going to do something like this with the image of the wing with flaps and aileron?

If I'm getting ahead of myself, smack me around. I'm starting to have some fun with this

Yes. I've got some pics ready. I'll post them. We'll get to the point where I'll start to wonder who will finish first!

Another question: are the ailerons and other control surfaces beveled both sides at the hingeline, or only one?

Flaps and aileron are beveled on the top side only. Both surfaces are beveled from about 1/2" back from the control surface attachment point.

The rudder is beveled on both sides, starting about 1/4" back.

The elevator is beveled on the bottom side, also about 1/4" back.

Beveled on the top? I thought a one sided bevel would be flat on top, and beveled on the bottom. Either way is fine, but I want to make it as accurate as possible, of course.

You know what... you made me realize that I assembled my wing wrong. The bevels should be on the bottom side for both aileron and flaps. Looks like I'll have to un-tape and swap sides. Hopefully I don't have to re-drill for the control horns... Ugh.

Anyhow, yes, best to build the model correctly and not duplicate my silly mistake.

Either way is fine for me. I duplicated td9's silly mistakes, I can duplicate yours, too!

Are the fixed surfaces also beveled on the bottom?

So, ahem... yes, as I was saying... beveled surfaces on bottom

P.S. I am sure glad I decided on a taped hinge rather than CA...

I'm not quite sure what you mean about fixed surfaces... If you mean the rest of the wing, then no only the control surfaces are beveled.

Yes. At least by what I mean, fixed surfaces are the surfaces that control surfaces are attached to.

This post shows how I create the layout for the aileron and flap. The next post is the .zip for these pics.
