NVidia 5200 vs ATI 9800

Hay guys and gals:
I just ordered my copy of RealFlight from Tower and I need a video card. I can get a NVidia 5200 for $40 or an ATI 980 Pro for 120. Question is will RF preform that much better with the ATI card? Money is really tight as I am a student and would rather buy a model than a video card. But I don't want to wast money on something that it dosen't run on very well either. What do you think, should I go with the NVidia 5200 or go with the ATI 9800? RF is all it will be used for as I am no gamer. But I do want to fully use RF.
Thanks for your help,

Without knowing what other components you have in your system I would recommend the 9800 pro (its what I have) If want to get some idea of the performance difference then this might help link

Reaflight G3 uses DX 9 and you can see that the 9800 pro is approximately three times faster than the 5200 and three times more expensive

The 9800 is a much better investment and will support games further into the future than the 5200.

Although it has been answered, when looking at video cards, buy the more expensive one (usually).

The 9800 is more comparable to the nVIDIA 5900. The 5200 is a much lower performance card.

I have a 5900 Ultra personally, and I'd prefer that over the ATI 9800. But it depends on what games/programs you plan on running, as some are opted more for OpenGL, and others for D3D. ATI likes D3D and nVIDIA likes OpenGL. But seeing as you said you're only going to play RF3, definitely get the ATI.
