TheDudeVT -
Read through the instructions (first post of this thread) again.
Especially the part that says "Important".

3D Sukhoi

Nice work on the 3D Sukhoi...the thing knife-edge loops effortlessly. Does everything effortlessly! ;-}

Umm...guys

Correct me if I'm wrong...but the tailwheel on the new 3D Sukhoi appears to be rotating 360 degrees on its vertical axis, instead of its horizontal axis.

A likely analogy is; making a coin spin on a table by holding it vertically with one finger, then flicking it on either edge, to make it spin like a top.

The only way to see this, is to taxi it slowly right in front of you. ;-}

Everything works good now . It is worth mentioning that the "Patch" needs to be in the "active" G3 directory. As my install was originally to the default then later moved to another drive, it took a little trial and error to find the correct directory for the patch. In my case it was D:/RealflightG3/Data. It's amazing what you can forget after 5 months

Bulldog suffers from quicksand effect

When taxi-ing around with the Bulldog, the tail section sinks into the ground and breaks off.

Just a bug I thought I would report....

And yes riderbike, the wheel does spin the wrong way on the 3D Sukhoi

Anyway..... Back to flying

I recieved the same error whenever I turn on Shadows, with shadows off, I don't get the error. Is this a new bug? I am running an Nvidia card and I read that there were some changes done for the Nvidia cards.
Breakstuff5050, I don't think that it is something with the Dominion heli.
Thanks,
Trey

We've fixed the problem where users with .313 CDs had to perform special steps to get this update. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you!

With the upgrade, the Trex 450 (customized electric (Mega 16/15/3) version of the Dolphin) will take off and then will over 30 seconds lose power to the point where even on full throttle (normal or idle up modes) the heli will slowly sink to the ground. Not sure what is causing this. The light version of this model started twitching badly in midair as it was losing power and became uncontrollable and crashed. Spool up on take off also seems to spin the heli much more and causes complete destruction of the heli on the ground more often than not. I've switched back to 3.00.377 since it works fine in that version. Oh well.

I tried the dolphin, sundog and wattnot and they didn't seem to have these problems.

The model in question is available here
Try changing "Has Clutch" under "Airframe->Fuselage->Heli Mechanics" to yes. That fixes the power problem for me. Maybe the problem is that it is simulating gear stripping

Thanks TommyBurger - that has cleared up the power issue with this release for the custom Trex 450 model. Weird!

Since this heli doesn't really have a clutch, this issue would seem to be worthy of followup from the good folks at Knife's Edge.

is it me, or do the engine sounds seem linked to prop rpm...instead of engine rpm..

very noticable when modifing warbirds for bigger props and using gear box reductions. Engines seem to sound like they are barely coming off of idle when they are actually turning 8000+ RPM (bigger 2 strokes) and the props are 2500 to 3000 RPM

noticed this for a while and wondered why KE hasn't fixed this yet

Silly me..

I thought the engine and prop were connected and turned at the same speed...

LOL

Question Weird!

Ok, so I'm flying my Trex 450 (customized Dolphin - see above) using the clutch workaround found by TommyBurger. I'm hovering around doing tail in hovering in an "E" mattern and occasionally the tail just twitches 40 degrees to one direction and back again. After 2-3 minutes of hovering, there's one more twitch and the model instantly grows in size (10 - 20x normal) and goes 2D flat! Naturally I crash. Pressing reset restores the heli to normal. What's with that?!!

Out of curiousity, did this patch fix the "hard landing" problem with the helis?
