Jim Bourke Airshow Trainer (formerly Acro FS)

I noticed that the 'Jim Bourke Airshow Trainer (formerly Acro FS)' is now showing up on Steam but it looks like they (Steam) are still reviewing it. It will be interesting to see what improvements it has over Acro FS, esp. in VR.

I still enjoy playing the original free demo of Acro FS (which is no longer available btw) but like RF-X it takes a lot of PC horsepower to play it in VR.

I'm not sure mate. I think that the potential problem with JB's new version is that it is still probably based on the RF-X graphics engine which does not seem to be a popular or efficient (esp. for VR). But, who know? Maybe we will get some nice RF9 surprises soon!

Pretty sure as far as RF stuff goes Horizon Hobby pulls all the strings now. KE does what they ask/tell them to do.

Well we did not get too many nice RF9 surprises but at least the new Spektrum Interlink DX controller is very nice. I just set mine up with Acro FS and it works very well. Even VR with Acro FS works well for me. Better than RFX imho.

I have 6 weeks to wait for my DX in the meantime the interlink x works quite well as I don't use that auto recovery button as I learnt how to fly and recover myself

I deleted acro FS when I was peeved at Jim Bourke and probably regret it now.

Actually, if you have downloaded it before you can just do a store search (logged in) for Acro FS and scroll down a bit. It will say it's in your library so you just need to press play and it will download again. Cheers.

Actually now neither Acro FS or Jim Bourke Airshow Trainer are showing up in Steam Store searches. So, I guess both are dead in the water. My Demo version of Acro FS continues to work ok though.

Maybe time to move this into the Discontinued Section of this forum?

Wow, and here I thought it was dead and buried, lol!

I just tried it with my nice new Vive Cosmos VR headset and it works very well.

I found it easiest to start off in non-VR mode in order to setup my controller (Spektrum Interlink DX) and a few graphics settings. Actually looked very nice on my flat screen.

Going into VR was easy-peezy esp. since all the menus are also now in VR. I'm looking forward to trying out all the new aircraft and fields.

This is just too good to be free mate, lol!
