Ha.. One more tweak before I stop. For those that look close I reduced the diameter of the steering wheel and hub a little bit. I wanted to rework the steering wheel and add the cutouts for the control levers for a long time but kept putting it off. This will really make the cockpit look nice when I fly it in RF-X.

The cockpit details look great Technoid, the slots for throttle lever movement are a nice addition and all the dash gauges are spectacular, the steering wheel is awesome, gives the cockpit a 1950's appearance which is more in keeping with the flying boat era.

I rounded off the top edge of the steering wheel so it doesn't look squared off and duplicated it to the other side of the plane. When I added the new steering wheel it used quite a few triangles to keep it round looking so I went back and found more triangles to delete on the back side of the engine where you can't see it. The triangle count had increased to 107,062 but after I reduced the triangle count it went back to 105,334 which is almost the same as it was before I added the new steering wheels. (105,154) Next I need to map the changes so I can paint them. I'm definitely glad I reworked the steering wheel because it finished off the cockpit nicely. Ha.. maybe now I'll quit adding stuff and finish the plane.

I finished mapping the parts for the new steering wheel and repositioned all the cockpit parts that were under the dashboard in the CS file. I also raised the cutout point for the differential engine control from -75 to -65 which should give one more click on the throttle before it disables the differential control. I don't think the CS changes I made will affect any color scheme you created 'unless' you changed any of the parts in the cockpit, which you probably didn't. So here's a new beta for you to try out please let me know if any of the new parts need any changes. I did make the steering wheel and yoke a little more glossy so let me know if they seem too glossy to you. I like the new steering wheel it definitely looks like what should be there. The only question is does the gloss on the steering wheel and yoke look okay.

Thanks for the latest. I tried to go out and just hover around with my injured thumb but again got attacked by a deer/horse fly. It even bit through my shirt. I may be done flying for real until it gets cold again.

I liked the white better so I went in and repainted them. I haven't decided on the color for the center quite yet.

That's cool. I didn't paint them white in the beginning that's the color things are if they're not mapped. Most of the flying boats I looked at had a light gray steering wheel but one of them was gloss black so I made mine dark but not really black and added a touch of gloss, not much. I just reworked the steering wheel color and will post a picture next.

After flying it for a while I thought the steering wheel color was a bit off so I tweaked the color of the steering wheel and spokes. I made the steering wheel a little lighter and the spokes a little darker. Now it seems to look more natural to me but let me know what you think. Here's a before and after picture. The first picture is before and the second picture is after.

I like them both, BUT, I`m leaning towards the first tone...
