To answer the OP...

I have an Easy Star, and while it's not the hardest plane to fly, I was able to fly it perfectly on my first run.

Why? I've spent hundreds (possibly thousands) of hours in X-Plane and MS Flight Simulator. I've also spent a lot of time reading about aerodynamics.

If you understand the 3 most basic principles of flight, then you can fly anything:
1. Angle of attack is what makes your plane fly. Everything about your plane's performance comes back to your AOA.
2. The throttle is your altitiude control and the elevator is your speed control.
3. A plane turns by banking, not from the rudder.

Even with 2 and 3 channel planes, the flight direction doesn't actually change until the wings are not level. In fact, using the rudder too much can cause your plane to stall, spin, and crash. In fact, you're better off if you never touch the rudder, except in very specific circumstances: in the stall or engine out situations. For normal flying, you could disconnect your rudder servo, tape the rudder in place, and never miss it.

A good book to read on this topic is "Stick and Rudder". This could be the most important flying book you've ever read.

Yes with a small electric.
Ok, I'll bite! How did you end up with that kind of damage from a small electric plane

E-Props spin fast, and have SHARP edges. ( yes even when you sand them down )

A 400 motor is very powerful. Not much force is needed to actually cut you.

Bump a TX, or have a problem while you are fiddling with the ESC.... and it's an emergency room visit in the making.
