Keyboard not working

HI... newbe dongo here.

Just bought the rf7 and installed it first try. Checked out lots of planes and
airports and everything works great. Great sound and great graphics.

But have a problem with the keyboard. It does not operate after I load up
the simulator. It is functionless.

Every key makes a chirping sound and that's all.

My keyboard and mouse are run by one usb dongle and the mouse works great.

I plugged in another usb keyboard and it has the same results...just chirps

The only way the keyboard will work is if I shut down the simulator.

I have checked all I can think of .... any ideas ??? ... I need help ....thanx....dongo

Might be have an issue there. You can try using extra mouse and keyboard.

He already tried that... read his message before responding. I don't have an answer, but obviously the USB ports are not reading correctly... might want to experiment with having the Interlink attached when starting the computer or using different USB ports or a powered USB multiport device installed. Also might help if you told us more about your computer, and OS.

I have experienced a big similar to this after being in the airport editor. And restarting RF usually fixes it.

HI LokeshR ... THANX FOR THE REPLY. I BELIEVE IT IS INDIRECTLY A USB PROBLEM.....BUT ORIGINATNG WITH A CONFLICT OF ADDRESSES WITH PORTS, ETC.
I HAVE WIN 10 WITH AMD 4300 QUAD AND 3.86 GHZ.
IT IS 64 BIT SYSTEM AND x64 BIT PROCESSOR.
ASO 1 TERA.
CARD IS NVIDIA Gforce GT 730
I ALSO HAVE 3 POWERED USB 3.0 HIGH SPEED HUBS.
I STRIPPED THE COMPUTER DOWN TO BARE BONES WITH NOTHING
BUT THE MONITOR AND MOUSE AND KEYBOARD.
I REMOVED THE RF7 AGAIN AND REBOOTED AND STARTED FRESH.
I TRIED EVERY COMBINATION OF EVERYTHING EVEN USING A CORDED
MOUSE AND THE KEYBOARD WOULD NEVER WORK.
THEN...6 HRS LATER ...I PLUGGED IN A CORDED MOUSE IN CONJUNCTION
WITH THE CORDED KEYBOARD AND .... THE KEYBOARD WORKED.
NOW EVERYTHING WORKS GREAT BUT AS OF NOW I AM STUCK WITH
ITEMS THAT ARE NOT WIRELESS.
WHENEVER ANY WIRELESS MOUSE IS USED IT KILLS THE KEYBOARD.
DON'T KNOW WHY IT WORKS LIKE THIS BUT MAYBE SOMEONE READING
THIS MAY HAVE AN IDEA.
thanx...........dongo

Try adding a cheap USB hub and using that for your wireless keyboard and mouse.

HI ... I HAVE TRIED MY CHEAP HUBS AND I HAVE SEVERAL POWERED HUBS CONNECTED
AND HAVE TRIED COMBINATIONS OF ALL OF THEM ALONG WITH 3 DIFFERENT KEYBOARDS
AND 3 DIFFERENT MICE. ANYTIME A WIRELESS MOUSE IS INVOLVED IN THE TRIALS IT
WILL KILL THE KEYBOARD.
I AM RUNNING WN 10 WITH MICROSOFT EDGE AND WITHOUT CHROME.
MY NEXT TRIAL SESSION WILL BE WITH WIN 10 AND USE CHROME.

AT LEAST THE RF-7 IS WORKING GREAT NOW WITH THE WIRED MOUSE AND WIRED KEYBOARD.
thanx..........dongo

Interesting solution... hard to believe the wireless mouse is at fault.

Could you write this up and send it to technical support. It might help someone else. It could be a problem in the OS. Really wierd. There have been some problems with AMD processors before, but that was a while back.

You are really a piece of work... He answered correctly and helped to solve the issue. At the same time you weren't useful at all. You are one of the reasons why the KE forums are deserted.

Nice to see you back Jeff,
I responded that way because he posted garbage in several other threads before departing. Reported

I've had problems plugging slow USB devices - like mice, KB's, old USB drives, & the Interlink Elite into the USB3 ports on my HP Z420 Workstation under Win10. There seems to be a compatibility problem with some devices. I don't know whether it's unique to the USB3 hardware in my HP, Win10, or what. Have you tried plugging things that don't NEED the extra speed available via USB3 into your computer's USB2 ports? I only plug devices that are natively USB3 into my USB3 ports. I plug USB2 devices into my USB2 ports instead relying on my USB3 ports to downgrade to slower connections for those devices. Most PC's with USB3 ports also have USB2 ports. USB3 ports often (always?) have blue "tongues" and USB2 usually has black ones.
