Thank you to all 3-D Modlers past and present.

I've been away from RF for some time (again!)

Life is hectic, leisure and personal time severely limited, but the one thing I do enjoy when I can, is playing with RF.

So, I want to go on record one more time that none of my "work"...none of it....is possible without the skillful 3-D modelers out there who are the Real Creators...The Foundation Builders...the Sand Box Providers, who keep the kid in me happy for months on end...

Thank you Brent G, Technoid, Legoman and others for allowing me to re-touch your achievements, it is done with respect and gratitude always

I'm not normally a "Jet Guy" but I did build some Nam era scale models as a kid...so I promised Legoman around Christmas I would do some 50% AV's and paint scheming on his sleek, sexy F-105's...

Which needed a wide open airfield for testing...which led to a pretty cool yet Spartan Desert Test Facility with little to run into that I rather like...which then led to a whole fleet of Half-Scale Cold War Jets and Support Aircraft...

While I dithered and procrastinated on his F-105's... to the point his Grumman F-3 is long complete, and now a B-Freaking-52 has the Keel Laid?

So many Great Planes, so little time....

I will be Posting some 50% AV's and several Color Schemes before Fourth of July, I just wanted to give a sneak peak at some of them....Legoman, these are for you, better late than never

Bamo in Camo!

Col. Jack Broughton, author of "Thud Ridge" and "Going Downtown, the Air War against Hanoi and Washington".

Must-reading for anyone interested in F-105's in Vietnam

One last thing....

In keeping with Legomans Originals, the External Tank B models are all Silver, the Bomb-laden D-models are all Camo...

I dont want to pollute the board with a dozen colorschemes, but if anyone wants a Silver D with Bombs, or a Camo B with Drop Tanks, let me know...the Original Schemes are so well laid out its pretty easy for me to have both models in Silver and Camo

IMHO, the B with Drop Tanks is the sleeker of the two, more "fighter-esque" when the tanks are jettisoned than the D model with its Belly Rack...

But I love me that Close Air Support from a jet coming in so low, even the PILOT wears Camo!

But working on equipment defined as 'Secret' gave me a great working environment it was guarded and secure and air-conditioned so I had the 'no-sweat' job there. I worked in the lab area directly fixing the equipment so I only had to go to the flight line a few times during the whole year. (who said good grades doesn't get you anything)

Moto - This is some beautiful work I'm sure legoman is thrilled with it.

Very cool (pun intended!), thank you for your service...
Ironically, all the Silver ones I found (and copied) were from the first squadrons to arrive at RTAFB Takhli in '65..

Small world?

I was in Pattaya once for a few days of Liberty in the 80's...shame I never experienced "real" Thailand....

People ask if you've been to Thailand and I have to qualify my reply....

Like someone claiming to "know America" based on one visit, Fourth of July weekend, at Seaside Heights New Jersey...

A terrible yard stick to measure a people and culture by, practically an Insult! LOL!!

That would have to be Robert Duvall as Lieutenant Colonel "Bill Kilgore" in the movie "Apocalypse Now". NICE nose art BTW... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nx5N-4JvVyk

Ding Ding Ding!

Winner Winner!

Bill Kilgore, "I'm Goofy-Foot"...
Discussing nose-riding techniques with Lance Johnson (the SURFER?!) just before the very first On-Screen Appearance of the Legendary R.Lee Ermy, A.K.A The Gunny, in a short cameo as one of the Helicopter Pilots...

I was 18, heard Ride of the Valkyries for the first time in my life, and enlisted the next day!

I stole Patti from a Decal strip for an F-105 called "Cherry Girl", I just gave her a red G-string and new name (the original was a little TOO Racey for a family show, even Pixeled down!)

I steal everything...an online pic of the Instrument Panel made semi-transparent and colored over a little to make it "blend"... ditto for the "quilted" texture on cockpit walls, its a pic of a Huey bulkhead....Wheels were lifted from from the F7F Tiger Cat colorscheme, Brown and green shades came from a Hurricane, Inner Gear Doors from the Mustang....copy paste cut stretch blend tweak....

Everything I do here is from the work of others.
