Doug Kaye is one of the original content creators. He is/was the goto guy for accurate physics. His regular job I believe was putting Simulators together for the US Air Force. He is heavy into the aeronautical field.

He did this model for me. One of my all time Favorite Aircraft. The Howard 500. Gotta love a corporate/executive transport with a couple R2800's on the wing.

Plus it was easy with a white flood fill.

Ok, seriously it looks great. I love some of these schemes but would never have it for a real RC bird. Blends into the background. You could not fly this many days here with all our clouds.

i hear you on that one , i built as a second plane a dynaflite P-40 and had a tweaked 46 in it and it was a fast plane , i did the camo green and tan with sky blue bottom look sweet but when i came down to tree line it was easy to lose sight of it always had to keep your eye on it the whole time , so i put the yellow on the leading edge of the wing to help

When I started this project I looked for pictures of Great Lakes Bi-planes and found a plane I liked, which is this CS. I'm a simple guy it works for me!

I did add stripes on the hstab and vstab that the real plane didn't have. Let's see. A stripe on the cowl that runs down the fuselage. Stripes on both sides of both wings. Stripes on the elevator, rudder, and pants. (ah.. not quite a white flood fill)

I like white. A plain white canopy on a heli is very visible.

Ah... I just be mess'n wich ya Technoid... it is a good looking plane full size. I was just commenting about how what works full size might not be the best on an RC plane. It certainly was not a ding against your fab work.

I was flying my white Radian Pro the other day... looked down at radio for a sec and could not find the plane as I looked back up. Very cloudy that day. Solution is not to panic... wait until the angle changes and it decloaks.

IF you like white on a heli canopy (flown closer btw), you will love what a florescent orange will do.

My color scheme doesn't seem to fit a Great Lakes Special so I'm working on another Bi-Plane to use it on, is it fair to call this plane a Great Lakes Trainer?
