A short update. I removed the stock radial engine straight down exhaust pipes and added the typical DC-4 exhaust pipes it definitely looks nicer that way. In the beginning I cut a hole in the Nacelle for the exhaust pipe to go through but like normal cutting holes in a rounded surface causes the smoothing groups to go wacky so you see little bad areas the surface. So I just used the exhaust pipe without the holes in the Nacelle which still looks fine. Here's a render for you.

I wasn't going to put an instrument panel in the beta but today I looked around and found something I liked so I put it in. I think it's finally time to release a beta so I'll give it another look and release a beta for you to play with while I work on my file server. I haven't tried it in RF-X yet but I'll check it out before I release the beta. Here's a picture of what the instrument panel looks like.

Superb panel. I'm sure you have more things to tweak . I know everyone is anxious for the first beta.

I thought I'd rework the throttles to make them look a bit more scale.

Careful flying. The oil pressure warning lights are on I also wondered on UK planes does the pilot sit in the right side seat instead of the left ???

I was tweaking the new throttles a little so I decided to turn off the oil pressure warning lights too.

I thought I'd drop by with an update. After I finished changing things I was going to release a beta so you guys can play with it but I decided it would be better if I re-map the changes before the beta so anyone that creates a color scheme for the beta won't have to change it much after the release. For my stuff a beta means they'll be more changes which creates the possibility of a change to the mapping because you have to re-map what was changed. Sometimes the re-mapped part will fit inside the old area so it doesn't affect a color scheme but other times the re-mapped part won't fit so things change. Anyway if I re-map what I've already changed that will minimize what might happen later. So yet another delay to a beta release.

I remapped everything I could remember changing this morning but I still need to update the 3ds max template used for the color scheme and then update the color scheme itself, but at least the hard part is finished.

Question. Is anyone planning to create a color scheme for the DC-4, and if so which one are you planning to do. I'm not sure the color scheme I made for the beta will be the one I release it with so I don't want to make a CS that one of you are planning to do (and release).

I'm a lousy artist. I'll only be modifying CS's like always.
