I just got a nice new custom made desktop (see my signature) so I thought I'd give RFX a go again. Lots of download time but it finally went to the latest beta 1.5. The only problem I had was getting it to recognise my Interlink Elite controller. I managed to fix this by reinstalling RF Drone and added the Interlink serial numbers. After that, RFX recognised the controller no problem. Later I uninstalled Drone (but kept serial numbers) and RFX still recognises my controller no problems. I'm not sure why RFX did not seem to recognise it initially since I'm pretty sure I entered it's serial number when I reinstalled RFX. But maybe I missed doing it. Anyway, no big deal since it now works fine.

Actually VR now seems to work pretty well everywhere. I just needed to drop graphics setting down a notch or two. Non-VR looks and works great. So far I'm glad I reinstalled RFX. Too bad it looks like a dead duck now, lol!

After lots of mucking around I've come to the conclusion that RFX VR sucks. Too blurry and Wright Island is a pretty limited place to fly (esp. FPV) compared to Aerofly RC8 Norrison Island (~4x larger with caves, tunnels, and babes on the beach). Still, RFX is excellent in non-VR imho. Too bad it looks like it will not be developed further.

I see they keep coming out with newer RF-8 the RF-9 but it sure looks like they have abandoned RF_X. People at our club said I should have bought Phoenix software.

Very disappointing to say the least!

You could have but it's been discontinued in favor of RealFlight since Horizon, the former publisher of Phoenix, is now the publisher of RealFlight. Realflight has always been the better simulator over Phoenix especially when flight Physics are concerned.
