More snapshots

I went and took a heap of cool snapshots with the "sceen capture" setting on high but they are too large to upload! So keep that setting on low if you want to post your shots. Here are a few that I could upload, sorry about the Realflight info being displayed in two of them. Also does anyone know a simple way to disable the led's so I can get some cool sunset/sunrise pictures without the lights?

Yes, bitmap files are quite large.

There is no way to disable aircraft lights. Some models won't have them. Most or all propellers do.

mk's screenshots

I really like a lot of the pics so far (too many to list them all now) but my vote goes
------- 1st - #39 "phrank" page 3. Lol!!! Definately wins for those eye popping 3D graphics and also becase he has the mCPX on realflight!!!!
--------2nd - #7 "Maj. Numbskully" page 1
--------3rd - #110 "mwilson914" page 8
I also liked #181 "Mikeymike21" page 13, some cool stationary shots.
I reckon this thread could become really amazing if we all keep posting snaps.
Also, thanks for clearing that up Jeff.

Everyone should have to post a screen shot if they post here!!! (not really, but it would make it fun!!!).

Jeff,

That's not entirely true, always. I map the color of my lights to the .tga and have used the alpha channel for flame transparency, and the HUD such as I have done on the F-15E. I don't know if I did this to the B-1B or not, but I think the F-15E might be the only model I've done where the ~CS_GLOW and ~CS_BULB objects use transparency. Anyhow, there is some control to turning off lights. They just need mapped and assigned a material which allows using the alpha channel from the .tga.

OK,
While that may be true on a mwilson original,
how does he turn off the lights on the Yak-54 on his pic?

Browsing this thread reminds me that we introduced the "Orbit" camera mode in RealFlight 6. Some of you may be unaware of this new feature.

You can enter Orbit Mode on a 3d field by pressing CTRL+E, or with the console command "orbitMode". Orbit Mode's behavior is a bit similar to Pivot Mode, but it offers a bit more flexibility. Unlike pivot mode, the camera will retain its orientation and position relative to your aircraft -- sort of like a controllable mounted camera component. It's great for getting action shots!

Rather than listening to me ramble about it, I'd suggest going and playing with it if you haven't already. Remember, CTRL+E at a 3D field.
