Just bought G3, installed Ok but when I plug the Futaba interface into the computer it does not automatically install, instead it's asking me for a disc or location for driver info. (which i haven't got) My system is a brand new mesh athlon 3500+ running XP pro. Funnily enough my laptop (which is a lesser machine and only runs xp as opposed to xp pro) finds and installs the device straight away! Can anyone shed any light??

You are probably using the USB 2.0 ports and as a result it wants the USB 2.0 drivers. I am assuming that your chipset is either Via or SIS and you should have a disk with those drivers on it. If not when it asks for the disk try pointing to c:\windows\system32\drivers (assuming your harddrive is driveC). It should find the drivers its looking for. Hope this Helps Rene |

Still not recognised
Thanks for help airnut, but still no go. I've since discovered that nothing that is usb 1.1 is recognised!! The computer always asks for a disc. Mesh who suppllied the computer are sending a disc, hopefully that'll be the end of the problem.

I suspect that will fix the problem. Without that working, G3 definitely won't be able to access the InterLink. Let us know if you still have problems after USB 1.1 is working properly.

Any Drivers?
Is there a link anywhere for a driver for the interlink, I keep looking at the pretty pictures on the box longing for a go! I can get usb 1.1 stuff to work if i provide a driver for it.

The InterLink actually uses exisiting Windows device drivers; it does not require a special driver of its own. It is a Human Interface Device. You probably already have the HID driver installed on your system, but until USB is working, Windows won't recognize the InterLink is attached, which has to happen before it can realize it needs to use the HID driver to talk to it.
If you don't have the HID driver installed, when Windows first detects the InterLink it will prompt you to insert your Windows CD so it can install the driver it needs. But like I said, USB has to be working before any of this can take place. |

USB mess
My computer's usb ports do work, it's just they don't recognise the 1.1 stuff by plug and play alone. I've managed to get my old scanner to work by downloading the manufacturer's drivers. When i plug in the interlink it immediately comes up with found new hardware then ask for a disc / location this is where i come unstuck.

It's asking for your windows disk. You don't have all of the drivers installed and windows needs to install more Windows stuff. try that.
